It was announced by WWE today that the company will be showing a special on FOX this Sunday.
‘WWE’s Best Moments of 2020’ will be airing alongside the channel’s coverage of the NFL and will feature what the promotion consider to be the best matches and moments of the COVID-19 era of their product.
An official statement from WWE read:
“WWE brings all the action of the squared circle to FOX this Sunday with a special presentation of “The Best Moments of 2020,” alongside the NFL’s hard-hitting lineup.
The FOX special will feature a collection of the past year’s best matches and moments from The Undertaker, Universal Champion Roman Reigns, WWE Champion Drew McIntyre, John Cena, Raw Woman’s Champion Asuka, SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley, Raw Tag Team Champions The Street Profits, Sasha Banks, The Fiend, AJ Styles, Randy Orton, Edge, Seth Rollins, Braun Strowman and Matt Riddle.

Though there is no word yet on what the special will consist of, WWE have a wealth of material to choose from including Drew McIntyre’s victory and Edge’s return to WWE (Royal Rumble), The Undertaker vs. AJ Styles (WrestleMania 36), Edge vs. Randy Orton (Backlash), the unique Money in the Bank Matches which saw both take place simultaneously around WWE headquarters (Money in the Bank) and the entertaining Firefly Fun House Match (WrestleMania 36) to name just a few.
It is currently unknown whether the special will include highlights and matches from NXT and NXT UK.
WWE signed a five year deal with FOX in October 2019 to broadcast Friday Night SmackDown with NXT then being added to the stipulations. According to Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the deal was worth $205 million per year and $1.25 billion over the course of the contract.
