WWE SNME Incident Reportedly A Cover-Up For Real Reason Behind Seth Rollins’ Absence

WWE is reportedly using Seth Rollins’ injury at Saturday Night’s Main Event as a cover to conceal the real reason for his absence, according to a new backstage detail.

The Visionary’s match against LA Knight came to an abrupt end at SNME due to an injury he suffered when landing awkwardly and tweaking his knee.

While there are many rumors surrounding the incident, there is one common consensus that Seth Rollins’ injury is legitimate.

However, it seems that there is more than meets the eye when it comes to this situation, because, as per Dave Meltzer and Brian Alvarez, the incident at SNME might have been a cover-up.

Speaking on the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Alvarez revealed that there are so many conflicting stories around the incident because the former WWE champion might have been injured before the event, and the match was just a storyline to write him off TV. He said:

“So I asked around a lot as well, and there were also people listening to the show last night, and everyone is insisting that he is hurt, and we were told that he is hurt, and everyone is saying yes, he is hurt, and the John Pollock story.

Well, there is a third option, which somebody today told me what happened. They say [that] what is going on is the reason that these stories are conflicting is because he is hurt. But what happened on Saturday was a storyline, meaning he is hurt, but he did not get hurt on that spot. That spot was a cover for an injury that he has, which he will have worked on. And they are in Birmingham.

And so the idea that was suggested was [that] he will be out of action for a little while, but they’re going to say, like, you know, nine months or whatever, full, they’ll give this whole thing, but he will be back much sooner than that. So, actually, that would cover every base.”

Seth Rollins’ Injury May Lead To A Surprise WWE Return

Meltzer added to the statement by implying that this could be a setup for a surprise return, as his sources have told him that Seth Rollins’ cash-in will come out of nowhere. He said:

“That storyline makes that I’ll just say that that makes the most sense because one of the things I was told was basically that the cash will come out of nowhere.”

With no official word from WWE about the nature or severity of the injury, this theory remains plausible.

Seth Rollins is no stranger to making surprise appearances, and if this report is to be believed, it could set him up to do a repeat of his “heist of the century” cash-in he did at WrestleMania 31.

With Rollins out of the picture for an unspecified time, it seems that WWE will possibly be pushing LA Knight to be the face of RAW.
