Keep up with all of tonight’s WWE SmackDown results as the show emanates from the WWE ThunderDome inside the Yuengling Center in Tampa, Florida with WrestleMania Backlash set to take place in three weeks!

The results from this week’s show were as follows:

  • Daniel Bryan & Cesaro defeated Seth Rollins & Jey Uso via Pinfall (19:10)
  • Tamina defeated Nia Jax via Pinfall (2:35)
  • Apollo Crews defeated Kevin Owens via Pinfall to retain the Intercontinental Championship (13:40)
  • Rey & Dominik Mysterio defeated Alpha Academy via Pinfall (10:30)

Daniel Bryan and Cesaro Confront Seth Rollins And Jey Uso

  • We open with a promo package recounting Cesaro’s challenge to Roman last week and his match with Jey Uso, ending with Seth Rollins causing him to be disqualified. Cesaro is already in the ring and is about to talk but Seth Rollins interrupts.
  • Rollins says being in a WrestleMania match with him elevated Cesaro but their rivalry isn’t over until Rollins says so. Rollins blames the wild weather for his loss and Cesaro says he can beat Rollins tonight. Rollins looks like he’s about to accept but Jey Uso appears.
  • Uso says that Cesaro never beat him last week and never proved he can step to Reigns. The two circle the ring but Bryan comes out to even the odd. Bryan says he’s out here to support Cesaro’s quest to get a Universal Championship shot and he knows Reigns is going to come out to make this a three-on-two affair and sure enough, he does.
  • Reigns says that Bryan and Cesaro are losers, especially Bryan because he’s a WrestleMania loser and that if the two want a challenge, be careful what they wish for before leaving. Rollins and Uso advance to the ring, seemingly setting up a tag match.

Daniel Bryan & Cesaro Vs. Seth Rollins & Jey Uso

  • We cut into a brawl between the four men which Charles Robinson eventually breaks up to allow Bryan and Uso to start off as the legal men. Cesaro tags in and hits a stalling suplex on Uso for a near-fall. Rollins tags in and hits a slingblade for a two-count of his own.
  • The heels continually tag in and out to beatdown Cesaro and isolate him from Bryan. Cesaro eventually hits a middle rope backbreaker on Rollins before tagging in Bryan. Rollins tries for a pele kick but Bryan counters into a ankle lock into a german suplex.
  • Bryan goes for the running knee but Rollins counters into a buckle bomb as Jey tags in and hits an Uso Splash. He goes for a cover but Cesaro breaks it up before being suplexed on the outside by Uso and Rollins. We cut to commercial.
  • We cut back to Rollins hitting a big boot to Bryan’s head for a two-count before following up with a Death By Elbow for another two-count. Uso tags in and focuses on Bryan’s midsection with several kicks. Bryan starts to mount a comeback, knocking Rollins off the apron, but Uso hits a Samoan Drop for a two-count.
  • Cesaro eventually tags in and mounts a comeback, hitting a Harper Lariat for a two-count. He follows up with a springboard corkscrew uppercut and teases the Neutraliser but Uso fights out. Cesaro hits a mid-air swiss uppercut but Rollins breaks up the pin.
  • Bryan takes down Rollins with a tope suicida and Uso attempts the same on Cesaro but Cesaro counters with an uppercut. He dives off the top but Uso counters with a Superkick before we cut to commercial.
  • We cut back to Rollins and Cesaro exchanging strikes before Cesaro tries to go for the Swing but Rollins counters into a roll-up for a two-count. Cesaro manages to lock in the Sharpshooter but Uso breaks it up with a Superkick. He tags in and Rollins abandons his partner.
  • Cesaro hits a superplex from the apron into the ring before tagging in Bryan. Bryan hits the running knee on Uso to pick up the win.
  • After the match, Bryan calls out Roman for saying they were going to get beat. Jey Uso tries to attack Cesaro from behind but Cesaro locks in the Swing and takes him down with an uppercut. Bryan and Cesaro question why Roman isn’t coming out and Cesaro swings Uso again.
  • Bryan claims Roman is afraid and can’t beat Cesaro one-on-one which means Cesaro will become Universal Champion when he gets his shot.
  • A few segments later, Kayla asks Uso about Rollins walking out on him. Uso says he doesn’t care about that but Cesaro is going to get “put down.” We see Bryan confronting Adam Pearce about getting Cesaro his opportunity, with Bryan telling Pearce to “do more than try.”
  • Later, Kayla asks if Roman will accept Cesaro’s challenge. Heyman says that he respects Cesaro and that he’ll give everyone a spoiler: Roman will give his answer to Cesaro’s challenge later tonight.

Winners: Daniel Bryan & Cesaro via Pinfall in 19:10

Adam Pearce Reveals Kevin Owens As Apollo Crews’ Challenger

  • Adam Pearce and Sonya Deville are discussing Bryan’s support of Cesaro’s Universal Championship before Apollo Crews and Commander Azeez interrupt.
  • Apollo argues with Pearce about having to defend his Intercontinental Championship, especially if it’s against Big E. Pearce reveals it isn’t Big E, who will get his shot when he’s ready, but instead Kevin Owens.

Nia Jax vs Tamina

  • Reginald comes out with Nia and Shayna during their entrance, returning for the first time in a few weeks. Nia overpowers Tamina early on but Tamina takes Nia down after being taunted at by her opponent.
  • The two move to the outside and Tamina slams Nia into the barricade before rolling her back inside the ropes. Reginald distracts Tamina, allowing Nia to regain control but Shayna and Reginald argue on the outside. Tamina takes advantage, defeating Nia with a roll-up.

Winner: Tamina via Pinfall in 2:35

Kevin Owens Interview

  • Kayla congratulates Owens on getting an Intercontinental Championship opportunity. Owens says it’s been years since he got a chance at that title and that he will gladly be the one to “knock him off of his royal perch” before Big E interrupts.
  • Big E says that it should be him facing Apollo but Owens says tonight is his night before staring down Big E.

Apollo Crews vs Kevin Owens – Intercontinental Championship Match

  • Owens takes control early on by putting on a headlock to wear down Crews. The champion eventually breaks out with by rotating into a cover but Owens keeps up the pace by clotheslining Crews to the outside and setting up a tope suicida but Azeez blocks Crews, causing Owens to stop.
  • Crews starts to build momentum, hitting a suplex for a one-count. He takes Owens to the outside and tries to hit a moonsault off the apron but Owens dodges and hits a superkick. Owens hits a diving senton and gets a two-count before Sami Zayn makes his way to inside as we cut to commercial.
  • We cut back to Sami on commentary as Owens attempts a superplex off the top rope. Crews knocks Owens to the canvas and attempts a dive but Owens hits a superkick for a two-count. Crews fights back by hitting a triple german suplex for a two-count of his own before Owens hits a cannonball senton for a near-fall.
  • Owens tries to go for the Stunner but Crews counters into an Olympic Slam attempt but Owens dodges and hits the Pop-Up Powerbomb for a very close near-fall. Crews rolls to the outside but Owens hits him with Frog Splash before rolling him back in the ring.
  • Azeez gets up on the apron, distracting Owens long enough for Crews to roll-up Owens to pick up the win. After the match, Sami rolls into the ring and dances in an over-the-top fashion over Owens.
  • After the match, Megan Morant interviews Crews who says that his ancestors are celebrating about his victory over Owens. Apollo says anyone foolish enough to daydream about being Intercontinental Champion will get the same treatment before Big E attacks Crews, eventually being separated by officials.

Winner:Apollo Crews via Pinfall, retaining the Intercontinental Championship in 13:40

Aleister Black Presents A New Twisted Vision

  • Aleister reads from a book, recalling how he went to funerals as a child. That taught him to become like ‘The Dragon’ and how he is better than everyone watching at home, who should be scorched from the Earth to make way for “more fertile thing” before fading away in a cloud of mist.

Dolph Ziggler & Bobby Roode Stares Down The Street Profits, Bayley Calls Out Bianca Belair

  • Kayla congratulates the champions on their defence last week before The Street Profits interrupt. Ziggler tells The Street Profits that they’re at the back of the line before Bayley interrupts. Bayley says she graciously helped Bianca at the start of her SmackDown career and now she’ll get her payment by regaining the SmackDown Women’s Championship from Belair.
  • Montez Ford walks in with Belair on the phone, telling her about how Bayley’s badmouthing her. Belair says she’ll be right there.
  • After a commercial break, we see Belair and Bayley staring down each other. Belair says whatever Bayley said, she can say to her face. Bayley congratulates Bianca on winning the championship and says she’d be honoured to face Belair at WrestleMania Backlash before laughing in her face.

Rey & Dominik Mysterio vs Alpha Academy

  • Otis and Dominik start the match off, with the former overpowering his opponent early on. Rey saves Dominik from a middle rope dive from Otis but both members of Alpha Academy take down the Mysterios on the outside before we cut to commercial.
  • We cut back to Gable maintaining control over Dominik with a modified german suplex for a two-count. Alpha Academy continually tag in and out whilst isolating Dominik in their corner before Dominik eventually stuns Gable off the top rope before tagging in Rey. The Mysterios takedown Otis collectively before Rey hits the 619 on Gable followed up by a Frog Splash to pick up the win!

Winners: Rey & Dominik Mysterio via Pinfall in 10:30

Roman Reigns Gives Cesaro His Answer, Offers Challenge To Daniel Bryan

  • Bryan and Cesaro await Reigns’ arrival to give his answer but he doesn’t appear. Cesaro says if he doesn’t appear, they’ll just go to back and get their answer. Reigns eventually appears and says Cesaro hasn’t earned an opportunity against him,
  • Reigns defiantly says his answer is no because Cesaro will never be on his level. Reigns says he makes the challenges around here and instead makes a challenge to Daniel Bryan for next week’s SmackDown. However, if Bryan loses he is banished from SmackDown forever. Bryan accepts to close the show.
