Welcome to ITR Wrestling’s live coverage of WWE SmackDown. The event will be John Cena’s last appearance on the blue brand. CM Punk will return to the event hosted in his hometown. Brock Lesnar is anticipated to confront John Cena after SummerSlam & more.

AJ Lee Gets Right Into Business and Attacks Becky Lynch on SmackDown

AJ Lee Returns To WWE SmackDown

He tells Lynch it’s all about her coward husband who is hiding among the fans, hiding behing Paul Heyman, Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed.

The fans start chanting for AJ Lee, Lynch tells them to shut up and Punk tells her to permit them to.

Punk says he could ask Bayley or Rhea Ripley for help. Becky Lynch slaps Punk.

Punk says he would never day lay hands on a woman but knows someone who would.

AJ Lee makes her return to WWE. She charges at Becky Lynch who tries to escape the ring as the fans chant ‘holy sh*t’ to her return.

Seth Rollins

Seth Rollins invades WWE SmackDown

The Visionary tells fans they are here to witness history as the legend of CM Punk dies tonight on SmackDown.

The crowd chants CM Punk at the top of their lungs. Rollins introduces Becky Lynch.

The crowd chants for AJ Lee as Becky Lynch looks appalled. She yells at them for chanting for someone else while she’s in the ring.

CM Punk walks out to a thunderous ovation and chants from the fans in Chicago.

Women's US Title Match: Giulia vs. Michin

Michin lunges at Giulia as soon as the bell rings. The US Champion dodges her move, slides outside, and gets hit with a baseball slide.

Giulia goes for the lateral suplex, which Michin reverses into a roll up, and the champion kicks out. Michin with a German suplex to the champion.

Giulia with chops to Michin sends her into the corner. Kiana James tries to create a distraction which Michin kicks her in the face.

Giulia takes advantage of the distraction and hits her with the Arrivederci and pins her to retain the title.

Result: Giulia def. Michin

Randy Orton

Drew McIntyre and Randy Orton have an intense promo battle on SmackDown

Damien Priest

Aleister Black vs. Damian Priest

Aleister Black attacked Damian Priest before the match began.

Priest tries to get back on his feet and fight Black who puts him in a submission hold. Damian Priest with the razor’s edge to Aleister Black on the announcer’s table.

Aleister is in control as he hits Priest with a brutal blackmass and pins him for the win.

Result: Aleister Black def. Damian Priest

Sami Zayn

United States Championship: John Cena vs. Sami Zayn

The match already started during commercial.

Sami Zayn and John Cena grapple. The US Champion has Cena in a headlock. The Cenation Leader reverses the move with a shoulder tackle.

Zayn sends Cena back-first into the post. He gets up to his feet, and Zayn sends him into the opposite post. He attempts a third, which Cena intercepts sending Zayn into the post this time. Both men are down.

John Cena with a shoulder tackle knocks out the US Champion. During the match Cena paid tribute to Kurt Angle and Randy Orton with their signature moves.

Towards the end, Brock Lesnar appears and hits Cena with two massive F5s.

After his attack on John Cena, hitting him with multiple F5s, Brock Lesnar issues a challenge for Wrestlepalooza against Cena. WWE officially confirms the match for the Premium Live Event.

John Cena

John Cena kicks off his final SmackDown appearance

John Cena is here in Chicago to address fans on his last SmackDown appearance.

The Cenation Leader is met with cheers and a standing ovation from fans. He lifts the mic to speak as fans start chanting ‘Thank you, Cena’ at the top of their lungs.

He reflects on the words his peers told him to enjoy this and needed to get his mojo back by focusing on doing his best work in the farewell tour. Cena says he walked out tonight with no plans because he wanted to have fun.

John Cena talks about his very first WWE match on SmackDown, debuting against Kurt Angle. He reflects on his WrestleMania match with Triple H in the building.

Cena adds that he’s very thankful to fans who kept him honest. He thanks the fans and tells them to enjoy the night.

Sami Zayn walks out and is immediately booed by the fans.

Sami Zayn says that it would be wrong not to thank Cena for everything he’s done on behalf of the locker room. Zayn reflects on his first WWE match in an open challenge against John Cena.

He revisits the challenge and issues an open challenge for the US title tonight. And how it would be an honour 10 years later by giving Cena a shot at the US title.

John Cena accepts Zayn’s challenge for the US Championship right now and calls for a referee.
