According to PWInsider, WWE have officially singed former EVOLVE Tag Team Champion, Anthony Henry.

One of the foremost performers on the North Carolina wrestling scene over the last few years, Henry has been a mainstay for the likes of Premier Wrestling Xperience, Atlanta Wrestling Entertainment, Alternative Pro Wrestling and EVOLVE where he held the company’s double gold with James Drake – not NXT’s Grizzled Young Veteran.

On January 17, Henry took to Twitter to say goodbye to his fans in PWX with a heartfelt message that was so long that it had to be typed on his phone. In it, he thanked everyone in PWX for the hospitality they had showed me and credited them with his start in the business:

“I guess this is goodbye. With that being said, I am extremely proud of my matches last night, especially the last fight with @RealJDDrake. Once it drops, please go watch it. We left all out in the ring.”

The match in question took place on January 8, 2021, when James Drake and Anthony Henry as The WorkHorsemen defeated Violence is Forever at Action Wrestling: Matt The Mouth’s Mysteriously Meaty 29th Birthday Bash Extravaganza.

With several more dates to fulfil before he reports to the WWE Performance Center, Henry’s last match on the indies will be on February 12 against Nolan Edward before the thirty six year old reports to his new employer later in the month.
