A WWE Hall of Famer has recently heaped praised on Shinsuke Nakamura, claiming that he is the “best sports entertainer Japan has ever produced”.
‘The King Of The Mountain’ has found himself in the spotlight once again after being announced as part of Ric Flair’s Last Match, where he will team with Jay Lethal to face the 16-time World Champion and Andrade El Idolo in the tag team main event match on July 31st.
On top of that, ‘Double J’ has also been announced as the special guest referee for The Usos vs. The Street Profits match at this year’s SummerSlam. Jarrett recently appeared on WWE’s The Bump to promote his appearance this Saturday and also discussed a number of other topics.
It was during this appearance that Jarrett revealed his admiration for former WWE Intercontinental Champion Shinsuke Nakamura.
“When you see him (Shinsuke) perform live in Japan, in a dome show. And his entrance is just mesmerising and the motif, the ode to Michael Jackson. And then he gets in the ring and kicks a** the way he does. And super aggressive and super athletic. He is truly, in a lot of ways, I don’t wanna say the first, but to me he is the best sports entertainer that Japan has ever produced. Maybe by a long shot.”
While Nakamura’s WWE run hasn’t hit the heights that many would have hoped upon his arrival, he has carved out a decent career in North America and is certainly in the conversation as one of the greatest Japanese exports in professional wrestling history. While he will always been seen as a legend in his homeland for his exploits in New Japan Pro Wrestling.
As for Jeff Jarrett, his busy weekend starts this Saturday at WWE SummerSlam, as special guest referee in the aforementioned Undisputed Tag Team Championship match between The Usos and The Street Profits.
Fans can then catch the WWE Hall Of Famer performing on the ‘Ric Flair’s Last Match’ PPV, which will be streaming live on Fite.TV this Sunday.
