A prominent name from the WWE Attitude Era could be making their return to the company following an absence that has spanned more than 2 decades.
WWE Shop added several Ken Shamrock T-shirts and hoodies to the store on December 4th, leading to speculation that The World’s Most Dangerous Man may make a long-awaited return to the company. PWInsider are speculating that Shamrock may have signed a legends deal with WWE and this may lead to a Hall of Fame induction.
Shamrock is already a two-time Hall of Famer, having previously been recognised by the UFC and Impact for his contributions to each respective promotion. The induction to the Impact Hall of Fame was notable as the former UFC fighter was inducted by The Rock, who credits Shamrock with his rise to superstardom.
Establishing his career in the MMA world and competing in some of the first pay-per-view events in the Ultimate Fighting Championship, wrestling fans would be introduced to Shamrock in February 1997. Many will associate the early days of Shamrock’s wrestling career as being the special enforcer in the critically acclaimed Submission match between Bret Hart and Steve Austin at WrestleMania 13.
During his time with the company, The World’s Most Dangerous Man would win the Intercontinental Championship, Tag Team Championship and the 1998 King of the Ring tournament. Shamrock would exit the company in late 1999 to return to mixed martial arts. Shamrock was written off TV after being attacked by Chris Jericho and his bodyguard Mr. Hughes. Since the attack, Shamrock has yet to appear on company programming ever since. Although yet to make a return, Shamrock has appeared in multiple WWE video games that have been released since.
If Shamrock were to return it is unlikely that it would be in a physical role. However, Ken Shamrock has recently stated that he is not retired from wrestling.
Ken Shamrock Potentially Set To Be Lastest Name To Make Long-Awaited WWE Return
Multiple big names have made their returns to the company over the years, some more likely than others and some seemed pretty much impossible. However, whether it was Bruno Sammartino in 2013, Kurt Angle in 2017 or CM Punk in 2023, no returns seem to be impossible.
