Chris Masters attended AEW Dynamite on Wednesday (11th January) and the former WWE superstar shared his enjoyment of the show.
“The Masterpiece” tweeted a photo from his seat at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles, California, before later sharing a video as MJF cut a promo on Scooby Doo star Freddie Prinze Jr.
The current AEW World Champion MJF reacted to the crowd chants of ‘Freddie’, claiming fans were ‘dinosaurs’ and that Prinze Jr was a ‘douche bag’.
Masters has recently spoken of his desire to return to WWE but claimed his attendance at Dynamite was ‘as a fan’.
Chris Masters Locks In On WWE Star Bobby Lashley
Masters gained fame during two stints with WWE, where he perfected “The Masterlock”, a submission hold which no opponent had escaped until a 2007 feud with then ECW Heavyweight Champion Bobby Lashley.
Lashley has gone on to use a similar hold called the Hurt Lock, which has not gone unnoticed by the Ruthless Aggression superstar keen to step back into the ring with the former WWE Champion.
Speaking to Chis Van Vliet, Masters admitted that he would welcome a WWE return.
“I don’t ever feel like I’m coming back to WWE full-time. For me, it would be great to just come back to the Rumble to sort of make amends with certain people in the company, but to also show the WWE Universe the polished performer that I’ve become. Yeah, I wasn’t able to do it when I was there unfortunately, but I did get there.”

Whilst not holding a Championship in WWE, Masters faced the likes of Ric Flair, Shawn Michaels, Kurt Angle and John Cena. Currently working for the National Wrestling Alliance, a surprise return would give the veteran an opportunity to recreate ‘The Master Lock Challenge’.
With the 2023 Royal Rumble just around the corner, could fans see Chris Masters back in WWE ring?
