WWE Royal Rumble 2023 On Track To Set Incredible Record

WWE Royal Rumble Arena

2022 might have been one of the most tumultuous years in WWE history but the future is looking bright with good news regarding the 2023 Royal Rumble.

For the third time in the event’s history, the Royal Rumble will emanate from the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas. Both the 2017 and 1997 editions of the event were held there with hometown boy Shawn Michaels winning the WWE Championship back in ’97.

Fightful Select has reported on some good news for WWE in regards to the 2023 Royal Rumble with a major record looking set to be surpassed. The gross revenue and ticket sales records for the Royal Rumble are reported to have been set in 2017 at the Alamodome but that is on track to be beaten by 2023’s show.

The report continues by saying that WWE sources have confirmed that 25,000 tickets for the event have already been sold. This sets a new record for the Royal Rumble in terms of both paid tickets and gross revenue for a first on-sale weekend. The venue has not been opened up entirely for ticket sales, but more seats are likely to become available.

In 2022 the Rumble was notable for both former UFC stars Ronda Rousey and Brock Lesnar winning their respective versions of the 30-person matches.
