WWE has finally given arguably its most underutilized talent an opportunity to succeed.
At Night of Champions in June, Karrion Kross was booked in a match against popular star Sami Zayn. This was Kross’s first pay-per-view performance after several start-stop pushes and storylines on RAW that did not make it to a major event. Although The Doom Walker lost to Zayn in Saudi Arabia, he got his win back this past Monday. A rubber match is reportedly in the works.
Kross has enjoyed an unprecedented popularity among the WWE Universe after a work-shoot promo caught the attention of many. Fans have wanted to see the star get pushed on TV and get regular matches. While Kross’ ‘devil on the shoulder’ gimmick was gaining popularity, it did not translate into him getting regular PLE matches and being considered for a major push.
However, his latest feud with a top babyface, Sami Zayn, seems to be an indication that the future is bright for Kross.
WWE Considering “Intense” Third Encounter Between Karrion Kross And Sami Zayn
According to a recent report from Viper Reports via BodySlam’s Patreon, the rivalry between Kross and Zayn isn’t slowing down any time soon. There was an instance during their last match on RAW when Kross appeared to be bleeding from the head after a move by Zayn. After kissing her husband post-match, Scarlett Bordeaux also had blood on her face. This striking visual appears to only be a precursor for something more intense.
A third match seems to be on the horizon between Kross and Zayn. No official word yet on the setting or stipulation, but with the way things have escalated, this next chapter could be the most intense yet.
Kross wants to break down what he views as weakness in WWE. He has significantly impacted many wrestlers in the past, turning them from a babyface to a villain after feuding with them. Despite his best efforts this time around, however, The Underdog from the Underground has shown resilience and grit. It remains to be seen where things go from here.
