John Cena is definitely not short on challengers as he prepares to embark on his final run.
With the Hollywood star taking part in his final match in December 2025, the biggest question on everybody’s mind is which stars will receive the honour of being one of the select opponents. Although many established stars such as long-time rival Randy Orton and Undisputed Champion Cody Rhodes each have a strong case for one of the coveted spots, a rising star on SmackDown also believes they are worthy.
Making an impact on SmackDown following his main roster call-up, Carmelo Hayes is looking to shoot his shot against the biggest star of the 21st century.
Speaking with Denise Salcedo ahead of Bash in Berlin, Hayes called out Cena and stated that it is his time now:
“I will call out somebody just because I feel like this is the perfect time to do it. I think, you know, I talked about it earlier today as well, but John Cena, he’s on his retirement tour. He put out the message. He said, you want some, come get some. I think, to be honest, I’m right at the front of the line of people that are going to come get some. So, John, I’m just letting you know, just giving you the heads up. Your time is up, and my time is now.”

In a previous interview, Cena stated that next year the fans will be able to see him 36 times before all is said and done inside the squared circle. When asked about John Cena, one top star said they would be honoured to face off against the 16-time World Champion.
