Looking back on 2021, WWE revealed their top ten moments of the year.

2021 saw WWE move from the Thunderdome back to having fans in attendance and also resumed touring for live events. Despite the difficulties of dealing with the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the company was able to put on some spectacular moments, and during a broadcast on FS1, revealed their top ten moments of the year.

The full listing along with descriptions and videos can be found below.

10.) RK-Bro defeat AJ Styles and Omos for the Raw Tag Team Championships (SummerSlam 2021)

Though it took Riddle quite some time to convince Randy Orton to properly form the team of RK-Bro, the duo were successful in their quest for the Raw Tag Team Championships when they faced AJ Styles and Omos at SummerSlam in August. As of this writing, RK-Bro are still the reigning champions.

9.) Kevin Owens defeats Sami Zayn and stuns Logan Paul (WrestleMania 37)

The saga of Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn as friends-turned-rivals added another chapter in 2021, this time with Sami Zayn spouting conspiracy theories about his time in WWE and Kevin Owens looking to shut down his delusional former friend. Sami Zayn had Logan Paul in attendance as his special guest, and after Owens was able to defeat Zayn, he gave an epic stunner to the YouTube star for good measure.

8.) Bobby Lashley defeats Bill Goldberg (SummerSlam 2021)

Goldberg returned to the WWE in July of 2021 and challenged Bobby Lashley for his WWE Championship at SummerSlam. MVP interfered in the match, attacking Goldberg’s leg with his cane. Lashley continued to inflict damage on Goldberg’s leg and the match was eventually stopped by the referee who determined that the WWE Hall of Famer could not continue and Bobby Lashley retained his championship. After the match, Goldberg’s son Gage came into the ring and tried to help his father, but Bobby Lashley put the teenager in the Hurt Lock, ensuring their feud would continue.

7.) Charlotte Flair wins the Raw Women’s Championship in a triple threat match against Rhea Ripley and Nikki A.S.H. (SummerSlam 2021)

Nikki A.S.H became the Raw Women’s Champion after cashing in her Money in the Bank contract on Charlotte Flair in July of 2021. After a string of losses on television, she attempted to defend her championship in a triple threat match against both Flair and Rhea Ripley, but came up short when Charlotte was able to pick up the win, forcing the almost-superhero to tap to her signature Figure Eight.

6.) Damian Priest and Bad Bunny defeat The Miz and John Morrison (WrestleMania 37)

Hip hop star Bad Bunny made quite a splash when he made his way into the WWE, and after a stint with the 24/7 Championship earlier in the year, he found himself involved in a tag team match at WrestleMania alongside Damian Priest to take on the dastardly duo of The Miz and John Morrison. Bad Bunny surprised the WWE audience with his athleticism in the match, hitting a Falcon Arrow and a Canadian Destroyer before gaining the victory with a Crossbody on the Miz.

5.) Edge defeats Seth Rollins inside Hell in a Cell match (Crown Jewel)

Edge and Seth Rollins were embroiled in a bitter feud that started at Money in the Bank when Rollins cost Edge his Universal Championship match against Roman Reigns. The rivalry culminated in a brutal Hell in a Cell match, the first match of that type to ever take place in Saudi Arabia. Edge was able to defeat Rollins inside the demonic structure.

4.) Bianca Belair defeats Sasha Banks in the main event of WrestleMania to win the SmackDown Women’s Championship (WrestleMania 37)

Bianca Belair and Sasha Banks made history on the first night of WrestleMania 37 when they battled over the SmackDown Women’s Championship in the main event of the show. Not only was this Bianca Belair’s first championship win in WWE, but she and Banks also became the first two Black women to main event a WrestleMania. The match was lauded by fans, and stood out with memorable moments such as Belair leaving a cut on Sasha Banks after whipping The Boss with her signature braid.

3.) Becky Lynch shockingly returns to defeat Bianca Belair for the SmackDown Women’s Championship (SummerSlam 2021)

Bianca Belair had a dominant title reign after her win at WrestleMania and was set to have a rematch with Sasha Banks for the SmackDown Women’s Championship at SummerSlam. However, Banks was removed from television and live events shortly before the Biggest Party of the Summer and was reportedly not cleared to compete at the event. In a shocking turn of events, Becky Lynch made her return to WWE after giving birth in December of 2020. Lynch captured the title in mere seconds, leaving the EST feeling “defeated.”

2.) Big E wins the WWE Championship after cashing in his Money in the Bank Contract on Bobby Lashley

Big E was successful in capturing the Money in the Bank Contract in July. On September 13, 2021, after WWE Champion Bobby Lashley had endured a brutal match with Randy Orton, Big E cashed in the contract to win his first world title in the company. He is the fourth Black man to hold the prestigious WWE Championship, preceded only by The Rock, fellow New Day member Kofi Kingston, and Bobby Lashley himself.

1.) Brock Lesnar returns to WWE to confront Roman Reigns (SummerSlam 2021)

SummerSlam 2021 was a night for shocking returns, and after Roman Reigns successfully defended his Universal Championship against John Cena, he was confronted by a returning Brock Lesnar, sporting a beard and ponytail that would become beloved by fans. The newly babyface Lesnar hadn’t been seen on WWE television in well over a year, his last appearance being his loss to Drew McIntyre in the main event of WrestleMania 36.
