According to a new report from this weeks Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE are reportedly working on the signing of renowned Independent Wrestler ‘Speedball’ Mike Bailey.

‘Speedball’ Mike Bailey is best known to fans around the world for his work on the global Independent Circuit including DDT Pro Wrestling in Japan and a range of UK promotions including WWE affiliate company PROGRESS.

The hybrid style performer praised for his athletic abilities and incredible foundation in Taekwondo, the martial art in which he holds a Black Belt ranking, has been unable to perform the United States since March 2016 following attempts to enter the United States without the required paperwork in March 2016 for an EVOLVE Wrestling show.

Back in March of 2016 it was reported by the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that ‘Speedball’ was in the process of obtaining a visa through CZW at the time of his ban, however the process was going extremely slowly and would have forced him to miss the Evolve booking.

With Bailey’s United States entry ban expiring in March of 2021, it has now been reported that WWE are organising the paper work and tackling Visa issues ahead of offering a deal to the 30-year-old.

The Wrestling Observer writes:

“The company is working on signing and getting visa issues taken care of for a deal with Speedball Mike Bailey.”

The Canadian Superstar would comment on these rumours whilst live on fellow Wrestler and fiancĂ©e Veda Scott’s Twitch stream, commenting:

“When I have anything to confirm or deny, I won’t do it on my Twitch channel.”

‘Speedball’ Mike Bailey last appeared in-ring back in September of 2020 for Quebec based promotion International Wrestling Syndicate/ IWS.

Inside The Ropes will seek to provide more information on these reports as and when it becomes available.
