Ahead of Cody Rhodes’ expected return to WWE at WrestleMania 38, WWE Shop has released some new Dusty Rhodes merchandise.
Cody Rhodes has been the talk of pro wrestling discourse ever since he and his wife Brandi departed All Elite Wrestling on 15 February, with ‘The American Nightmare’ now expected to return to WWE as the mystery opponent for Seth ‘Freakin’ Rollins on night one of WrestleMania 38. Rollins’ adversary will be handpicked by WWE Chairman Vince McMahon.
Ahead of Cody’s expected return, though, WWE has conveniently released some new retro merchandise for Dusty Rhodes, the legendary father of both Cody and his brother Dustin, who remains in AEW despite the departure of his WWE Tag Team Championships-winning partner.
Two new t-shirts have been released for ‘The American Dream’ as part of their Marquee Classics collection; a Bionic Elbow shirt and an American Dream shirt. Both of these, which come in sizes small to three XL, are listed at £22.64, which equates to around $29.65.

This wouldn’t be the first time WWE Shop has inadvertently spoiled a key WrestleMania moment either, as they released a celebratory championship victory t-shirt for Kofi Kingston ahead of WrestleMania 35, where he captured the WWE Championship from Daniel Bryan.
It’s also worth stating that WWE already had Dusty merchandise on sale prior to this, while continuing to use his name as part of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic, but the timing of his new merchandise is certainly an opportune decision.
Under the moniker of Stardust, the real-life Cody Runnels left WWE in May 2016, unhappy with his career trajectory. He’s since become one of the biggest names in professional wrestling, being a former three-time – and inaugural – TNT Champion in All Elite Wrestling, where he also served as an Executive Vice President.
