A WWE referee has issued an apology after a major botch on SmackDown.
This week’s episode of SmackDown saw several high-profile matches. Chief among them was the Triple Threat match between Solo Sikoa, Rey Fenix, and Jimmy Uso, with a spot in the Men’s Money in the Bank ladder match on the line. Officiating the match, was legendary WWE referee, Charles Robinson.
A veteran in the business, with close to 30 years of experience under his belt, Robinson rarely makes mistakes. However, he was involved in a huge botch on WWE SmackDown as he was late in counting a pin. At one point in the match, Rey Fenix had Solo Sikoa rolled up, but instead of counting the pin, Robinson looked on for a few seconds.
Following this, he issued an apology on Instagram, acknowledging his mistake and that he will learn from it.
Sorry,…out of position and missed the count on @wwe #smackdown. We all mess up and learn from our mistakes.”
Robinson’s late count proved to be a game changer, seeing as Fenix had Sikoa beat. However, The Bloodline member was able to break out and eventually went on to win the match.
Alexa Bliss qualified for the Women’s Money in the Bank match on WWE SmackDown
While Solo Sikoa booked his place in the men’s match, Alexa Bliss secured her spot in the women’s match. The Goddess took on Michin and Chelsea Green on SmackDown for the right to be the first woman to qualify for the WWE Money in the Bank 2025 ladder match.
It was quite the bout, but Bliss proved too much to handle for Green and Michin. In the end, a Sister Abigail DDT to the former Women’s United States Champion allowed her to pick up the win.
