WWE Reactions To Triple H’s R-Truth Claim; What Nick Khan’s Involvement Means To The Roster

R-Truth attacks John Cena at WWE Money In the Bank

Ron Killings is taking the WWE Universe by storm less than 24 hours after his shocking return at Money In the Bank. Rumors continue to swirl on the 54-time 24/7 Champion formerly known as R-Truth, and now there’s unique insight into Triple H’s decision and how he may feel about fans playing a role.

The Truth got payback on John Cena at Money In the Bank. The return came days after Truth announced his own release from the company, by decking the Undisputed Champion with a belt shot to help Jey Uso and Cody Rhodes defeat Cena and Logan Paul. Now billed as Ron Killings, the name change was made due to a blockbuster storyline that is rumored.

Truth reportedly ignored WWE’s calls during the week after fan backlash changed their tune, but Nick Khan then got involved and now there’s talk of a massive final run for the former World Heavyweight Champion.

Triple H Allegedly Not Thrilled With WWE Fan Behavior

Multiple sources from the talent side of the company are claiming Triple H was not honest at the post-show press conference when he said this was all part of the storylines. Talent sources are reiterating how the Truth situation was not a work, according to Fightful Select. A roster source responded to the post from Truth’s son and said, “See?,” adding that no one can control the various conversations.

The internal denials are coming in after Killings’ son publicly told the Chief Content Officer to stop lying, and after Truth himself told a fan that this was “no work” on X. One anonymous wrestler who has worked with Truth for more than a decade made an interesting observation to Fightful.

“Ronnie wouldn’t do that. If he had to maintain a work like that, he’d just ask us not to say anything. He would never lie to us about that. I think that Paul [Levesque] also knows that lying to or working the locker room is in horrible taste,” the source said.

The WWE Universe essentially brought R-Truth back to WWE, according to an earlier backstage report. One anonymous WWE veteran spoke with Fightful and offered insight into Triple H’s approach, believing he can’t stand when fans hijack plans.

“I can tell Hunter doesn’t like it. He doesn’t like the fans hijacking creative. [Veteran continued in a very colorful manner on their disbelief at this being an elaborate plan],” the veteran source said.

A roster member that is close friends with Killings commented on how it’s hard to feel good when the company fired the industry’s Santa Claus. There was an expected sadness surrounding Truth’s WWE departure, but the mood changed at Money In the Bank as everyone was excited for the surprise. WWE officials put significant effort into keeping Truth hidden at the Intuit Dome last night, with only a few higher-ups and talent aware of plans.

Triple H indicated this was all a part of the show, but Truth and his son disagreed. The work-or-shoot debate rages on ahead of Monday’s RAW as Fightful reports that when Truth and WWE officials were asked directly by other talents about the situation, they were also told this was not a work.

Nick Khan rarely gets involved in contract negotiations, but the Killings situation was important to the entire company. A higher-up source noted how Truth’s return is seen as a positive sign of officials listening to the roster and the fans, which overcame everything else. Truth’s new merchandise led to some speculation on plans, but it was noted that the t-shirt was created months ago, as he wore it on TV in February.
