WWE Raw Undergoes “Major Re-Writes”

WWE Raw set

On April 3rd, WWE Raw underwent significant changes, both right before the show and once the episode was on the air.

It was later revealed that these changes came at the behest of Vince McMahon who was back running the show. The episode came in for significant criticism online, with many fans suggesting the action felt disjointed and thrown together.

Fast forward seven days and the card is again undergoing major changes, but this time, McMahon isn’t involved.

Ahead of the show it had been announced that Matt Riddle would take on The Miz, Damian Priest would address Bad Bunny, and Iyo Sky was scheduled to face Bianca Belair. However, all three segments/matches were dropped.

In the lead-up to the show, Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp noted that a number of changes had taken place due to travel issues. Following up, Andrew Zarian of the Mat Men Podcast revealed that less than an hour before the show, 50% of the roster had yet to arrive in Seattle where the show is being held.

Is Vince McMahon In Charge Of WWE Raw?

While Vince McMahon was all over the April 3rd episode of Raw, things are slightly different a week later. It has been reported that the Executive Chairman isn’t at the show, instead working remotely.

This follows on from the April 7th episode of SmackDown where McMahon again wasn’t in attendance. It was noted that McMahon worked remotely, and only small changes were made to the show.
