A misdirected Monday Night Raw star has supposedly been sent back to NXT, mere months after being repackaged on the red brand!
Veer Mahaan was a hot topic of wrestling discourse at the start of 2022, with WWE continuously promoting his arrival on Monday Night Raw for a few months before, finally, he reemerged on the post-WrestleMania 38 broadcast of the red brand. Now, he’s seemingly gone back to NXT.
Per F4WOnline, Veer was featured on an NXT live event alongside his old partner Sanga. It’s unknown if this is a full-time return to the brand for Mahaan but given his lack of television time since Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque took over WWE creative, it doesn’t bode well.
Signed to WWE in January 2018, the 34-year-old Veer Mahaan has struggled to get going. He was aligned with the aforementioned Sanga as the Malcolm Bivens-managed Indus Sher. Their time on NXT television didn’t last too long, though, with the pair moving to Raw in 2021 to serve as Jinder Mahal’s lackeys.
Prior to beginning a wrestling career, the real-life Rinku Singh Rajput was a successful professional baseball player, initially playing for the Pittsburgh Pirates after winning the Indian reality show, The Million Dollar Arm. The story of Singh and runner-up Dinesh Patel subsequently became the story of a namesake film, with Rinku portrayed by Suraj Sharma.
