Another member of the WWE roster has been asked if they were the one to attack Jade Cargill backstage.
Cargill was seen on top of a car backstage following an attack on SmackDown, prompting partner Bianca Belair to rush to the back and forfeit her opportunity at becoming the first-ever Women’s United States Champion.
With Cargill’s attacker unknown, fans are now speculating who was responsible for putting the Women’s Tag Team Champion on the sidelines until further notice. Although there are multiple suspects, one member of the Raw roster has denied it despite being at the show.
At Survivor Series, Cargill was set to team with Belair, Rhea Ripley, Naomi and Iyo Sky. During an interview with NEITRO V, Sky was asked if she was the attacker:
“Me? Me?! Me?! Could it be me? Well, that day I was on SmackDown, but I didn’t do that at all,”
Jade Cargill To Relinquish Championship?
Following the storyline attack, news broke that Cargill had suffered a legitimate injury and the backstage assault was carried out to write her off of TV. Follow up reports indicated that while the nature of Cargill’s injury remains undetermined, the SmackDown star is expected to be out for at least 3 months,
As previously mentioned, Cargill is currently one-half of the Women’s Tag Team Champions alongside Bianca Belair, leading to speculation over what will happen next to the titles. According to a follow-up report, the long-term plans for the WWE Championships appear to be set.
In other news, the first WWE Hall of Famer for Saturday Night’s Main Event looks to be set.
