This week’s WWE Monday Night Raw saw Dominik Mysterio face Sami Zayn, Becky Lynch against Zoey Stark, Drew McIntyre & GUNTHER went face-to-face and several segments to set up SummerSlam matches.
Raw took place from the Amalie Arena in Tampa Bay, Florida.
The Judgment Day started with a promo celebrating “Dirty” Dominik Mysterio winning the NXT North American Title last week on NXT TV. Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn interrupted with Owens saying nobody respects Dominik. Zayn challenged Dominik to a NXT North American Title match for later on Raw, which was made official.
Match #1:Becky Lynch defeated Zoey Stark. – Trish Stratus tried to interfere and distract to help Stark win, but Lynch overcame it to hit a Mandhandle Slam for the victory. The win means that Lynch gets to have a rematch with Stratus.
Cody Rhodes did a promo addressing his SummerSlam match against Brock Lesnar. Cody said his mother was not impressed by what Lesnar did last week. Cody said at Summerslam, “I end this.” There was no indication of there being a stipulation for their SummerSlam match.
Match #2: Dominik Mysterio defeated Sami Zayn to retain the NXT North American Title. – Kevin Owens, Damian Priest & Rhea Ripley were all ejected from ringside. When it looked like Zayn might win, Priest & Ripley re-emerged looking like they beat up Owens. Dominik rolled up Zayn to get the pinfall win.
A video package aired recapping the Roman Reigns-Jey Uso segment from SmackDown last week to set up their SummerSlam match.
There was a backstage segment involving The Judgment Day and Apollo Crews/Akira Tozawa. That led to a match being set up with Damian Priest facing Crews.
Match #3: Bronson Reed defeated Tommaso Ciampa – It was an even matchup until Shinsuke Nakamura walked toward the ring. Ciampa warned Nakamura earlier not to get involved, so Ciampa told Nakamura to go to the back. Reed capitalized to knock down Ciampa on the floor. Reed won with the Tsunami splash off the top rope.
Liv Morgan was supposed to have a match with Rhea Ripley, but Ripley did a cheap attack on Morgan on the floor. There was no match. Ripley beat up Morgan around ringside. Ripley stomped on a steel chair that was on Morgan’s left arm. Morgan was down selling the left arm injury. Ripley: “This is my division. You’re lucky you are living in it.”
Alpha Academy did a promo backstage. Maxxine Dupri challenged Valhalla to a singles match next week on Raw. It will be Dupri’s first singles match. Later in the show, Valhalla accepted the challenge.
Ricochet was in the ring calling out Logan Paul for a SummerSlam match. No reply from Paul until he attacked Ricochet from behind. Logan did a promo accepting Ricochet’s challenge for a match at SummerSlam. Ricochet got back up with a superkick and standing Shooting Star Press on Logan.
After a break, Logan Paul was interviewed and said he’d be at Raw next week to get revenge against Ricochet.
Match #4: Damian Priest defeated Apollo Crews – Priest won clean with a South of Heaven chokeslam.
GUNTHER was in the ring with Imperium for a face-to-face promo with Drew McIntyre. They exchanged words leading to GUNTHER saying he’ll defend the Intercontinental Title against McIntyre at SummerSlam. That led to a McIntyre match against Ludwig Kaiser.
Match #5: Drew McIntyre defeated Ludwig Kaiser with a Claymore Kick.
After the match, Gunther hit Drew with a German Suplex. Matt Riddle ran out for the save and Gunther gave Riddle a Powerhomb in the ring. Gunther tried to put Drew through the commentary table but Drew countered and gave Gunther a Powerbomb through the table.
Contract Signing: World Heavyweight Champion Seth “Freakin” Rollins and Finn Balor had a contract signing. They exchanged words as usual in these sorts of segments. Balor’s friends in The Judgment Day showed up to support him. Rollins tried to fight off The Judgment Day, but he couldn’t do it. Sami Zayn tried to help and he was beaten up too. Priest hit Rollins with a Razor’s Edge, Dominik hit a Frog Splash off the top and Finn Balor hit a Coup de Grace off the top to end it. The Judgment Day stood tall to end the show.

* Brock Lesnar returns.
* Logan Paul returns.
* Maxxine Dupri vs. Valhalla.
Next week’s Raw will be on July 31st in Houston and it will be the final Raw before SummerSlam, which takes place on August 5th in Detroit.
