The December 5th episode of WWE Raw emanated from the Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C. and saw a series of triple threat matches to determine who will face off next week for a chance at Bianca Belair’s WWE Raw Women’s Championship. In the first bout, Bayley was victorious in defeating Asuka and Rhea Ripley when she scored the pinfall on Asuka.
On next week’s episode of WWE Raw, Bayley will go head to head with Alexa Bliss in singles action after Bliss defeated both Nikki Cross and Becky Lynch in her triple threat match. Lynch looked like she would triumph at numerous times, but the members of Damage CTRL attacked her during the bout, allowing Alexa Bliss to pin Nikki Cross. Either Bayley or Alexa Bliss will be crowned the number one contender following next week’s singles match and will face Bianca Belair for the WWE Raw Women’s Championship at a later date.
As reported by Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics, the December 5th episode of WWE Raw pulled in 1,536,000 viewers with a 0.41 rating in the 18-49-year-old demographic. This is a decrease in overall viewership but an increase in the key demographic as compared to last week’s WWE Raw, where the red brand drew 1,668,000 viewers with a 0.40 rating in the key demographic.
Elsewhere on the December 5th episode, Matt Riddle and Kevin Owens teamed up to take on The Usos in a match for the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship. Riddle was scheduled to team with Elias for his tag team title bout, but The Bloodline attacked Elias before the show began, and Owens stepped in to fill his spot as he and Riddle both have animosity with The Bloodline, especially after the events of WWE Survivor Series.
The Usos were able to retain their championship, and after the bout, Matt Riddle was attacked by Solo Sikoa after Kevin Owens ran The Usos and Sami Zayn out of the arena with a chair. Riddle was removed from the arena on a stretcher following the attack.
