The December 19th episode of WWE Raw in Des Moines, IA saw a surprise alliance form when Seth Rollins and Kevin Owens teamed up to take on The Usos in the main event.
Enraged by Kevin Owens drafting in John Cena to team with Kevin Owens against himself and Sami Zayn on the upcoming episode of WWE SmackDown, Roman Reigns sent The Bloodline on a rampage on WWE Raw. The group attacked multiple people throughout the night, taking out NXT’s Andre Chase, Dolph Ziggler, Elias, and numerous others. When the group confronted Seth Rollins, Kevin Owens made the save, and the teams agreed to an impromptu match that saw The Usos take a rare loss to the unlikely allies.
According to Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics, the December 19th episode of WWE Raw pulled in an average of 1,705,000 viewers with a 0.43 rating in the 18-49 year old demographic. This is a marked increase over last week, which saw WWE Raw pull an average viewership of 1,472,000 viewers with a 0.37 rating in the key demographic.
WWE Raw also saw Bronson Reed make his return to the company after months of rumors that Triple H wanted to bring him back. Just as Dexter Lumis was about to win his ladder match against The Miz, Reed appeared in the ring, pulling Lumis off the ladder and launching a brutal attack on the star, even hitting his signature splash. This allowed The Miz to climb the ladder and take hold of the prize money that had been hanging above the ring, and he and Reed celebrated in the ring afterward.
Elsewhere on WWE Raw, Alexa Bliss attacked Bianca Belair following an interview segment with Byron Saxton, another indicator that Bliss could be turning to the dark side and re-forming her alliance with Bray Wyatt.
