WWE RAW Preview: SummerSlam Fallout, Roman Reigns’ Future, New Feuds, The Vision, And More [08/04]

WWE RAW Preview for Post-SummerSlam

The upcoming WWE RAW will see the fallout of the historic two-night SummerSlam premium live event this weekend. New champions and returns took place on both Saturday and Sunday nights of The Biggest Party of the Summer.

This weekend saw the first time WWE held a two-night SummerSlam. Several RAW stars were present, like The Judgment Day, AJ Styles, Gunther, CM Punk, Rhea Ripley, Naomi, Roman Reigns, and more. Although The Biggest Party of the Summer is finished, the action and surprises will continue tonight on the Monday show.

The first RAW after SummerSlam 2025 only has one match advertised: Rusev vs. Sheamus III. The former League of Nations teammates have been brawling for the past few weeks on the Monday show, and their trilogy will take place at the upcoming show in Brooklyn, New York, at the Barclays Center.

WWE RAW Preview: New Champions Crowned, Aftermath Of Shocking Returns At SummerSlam

As mentioned above, only Rusev and Sheamus’ third match is advertised for the upcoming Monday show. Still, this is something that fans should watch out for, as their previous matches proved that things can quickly become violent between the former League of Nations teammates.

SummerSlam opened with Roman Reigns and Jey Uso against Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed’s major tag team match, which saw the OG Bloodline duo pick up the victory. Given his history with Paul Heyman, it’s unlikely that his feud with the group will immediately end last weekend after a somewhat short build. With this in mind, it will be a wonder what is next for The Tribal Chief and The Yeet Master on WWE RAW.

The world and mid-card titles of WWE RAW’s women’s division remained the same. Naomi defeated IYO SKY and Rhea Ripley in a triple threat for the Women’s World title, then Becky Lynch defeated Lyra Valkyria to retain the Women’s Intercontinental gold. Although the women’s champions have retained their gold, the target on their backs remains just as big, especially in the case of The Man, who already has to worry about Bayley.

Speaking of champions, there is now a new world champion on WWE RAW. SummerSlam began with Gunther walking in as the World Heavyweight Champion, but CM Punk defeated him for the gold.

However, the night ultimately ended with Seth Rollins cashing in his Money in the Bank contract to capture the title after faking an injury. It would be interesting to see what LA Knight, his last opponent at Saturday Night’s Main Event, thinks about the situation.

Finally, one of the most shocking moments of SummerSlam came from Brock Lesnar, who returned at SummerSlam Night 2 after Cody Rhodes vs John Cena, targeting the retiring superstar in the process. It’s expected that the continuation might occur at SmackDown, but anything can happen in wrestling.
