Much like on April 3rd, the April 10th episode of WWE Raw was thrown into chaos by a number of late changes. Although this time, the confusion didn’t have anything to do with Vince McMahon.
In the hour immediately before the show, it was reported that a number of travel problems had caused matches and segments to be changed. While it was quickly revealed that 50% of the Raw roster hadn’t made it to the venue in Seattle, Washington.
Ahead of the show it had been announced that Matt Riddle would take on The Miz, Damian Priest would address Bad Bunny, and Iyo Sky was scheduled to face Bianca Belair. However, all three segments/matches were dropped.
It has now been reported by Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, that the match between Riddle and Miz was dropped before the travel issues became apparent. There is no word on why the match was canceled.
On the show, Sami Zayn and Riddle ran in right at the end from backstage to come to the aid of Kevin Owens who was being attacked by The Bloodline. Meltzer adds that the pair only arrived in the building during the third hour of the show.
The Miz didn’t feature on the show at all.
Cody Rhodes Comments On WWE Future
Ahead of Raw, there was much speculation surrounding Cody Rhodes and what comes next for the star. However, by the time he arrived in the ring with a microphone in hand, he had a very simple message.
Wins and losses matter, and his WrestleMania defeat hurts, but he has no choice but to pick himself up and keep moving. After being attacked the previous week, that meant facing Brock Lesnar.
The American Nightmare admitted that he was scared of The Beast, but that didn’t mean he wouldn’t fight him. Rhodes closed by challenging Lesnar to a match at Backlash on May 6th.
