Zoey Stark

Zoey Stark sends an emphatic message after WWE Raw

Zoey Stark continued on her victory streak this evening with a win over Candice LeRae. But her finishing maneuver, the Z360 isn’t the only impressive thing about this rising star — she’s also solid with her mic work. During tonight’s Raw Talk, Stark delivered a promo about how she’s a force to be reckoned with now that she’s here on the main roster.

I’ve already said it once and I’ll say it again: I’m going to take all of your favorite idols, all of your favorite superstars and I’m going to beat them down to the ground. I’m not here to make friends. I’m here to make a name for myself. So whether you like me or not, I really don’t care, and I’m going to be brutally honest to everyone — I give zero, and I mean ZERO F’s. There’s more to come!

Chelsea Green

Sonya Deville and Chelsea Green say tonight's loss won't slow them down

Sonya Deville had a rough night on WWE Raw, losing to Sonya Deville via her signature Tejana Bomb. After the match, Deville and her tag team partner, Chelsea Green were chased off by Raquel’s new tag team partner: Shotzi, but regardless of what happened tonight, the duo of Deville and Green are convinced they are on the way to being the new Women’s Tag Team Champions.

Can [the referee] not count? Clearly, I had her shoulders down for 1-2-3. We should be the winners, but no. Tonight doesn’t even matter. Tonight doesn’t even matter because next week, the fatal-four-way match, we will finally get some sort of rematch for the Tag Team Titles. But, oh, Liv is hurt, so we don’t get to face her. We get three random tag teams!

Green and Deville will battle Rodriguez & Shotzi, Ronda Rousey & Shayna Baszler, and Bayley & Iyo Sky in a four-way match to determine who the next Women’s Tag Team Champions are.

It doesn’t matter, Sonya. It doesn’t matter because next week, what matters is that we’re walking out as the new Women’s Tag Team Champions.

Hunter wants to get him medical attention but Cody is adamant he doesn’t want it.

Triple H says something about Cody being afraid, which triggers Cody to ask what he’s afraid of. He knows Cody is afraid that if the arm is indeed broken, he won’t be able to battle Brock Lesnar. Triple H knows how tough Cody is, but The American Nightmare needs to remember his year on the shelf. Rhodes says that what would be worse than that would be to not go to Night of Champions and fight. Rhodes says that Triple H knows what this feels like, and every time, he fought. It’s been everything he wanted and given him a life beyond his wildest dreams. He wants WWE to be the best it can be, and that’s what winning the World Title will do.

As the ref is checking on Dom, Rhea shoves Apollo face-first into the ring post. Crews nearly gets counted out but ends up back in the ring right at 9. Dom soars through the air with a sudden frog splash for the win! Dom gets it!

Cody Rhodes

What will happen with Cody Rhodes?

We see replays from earlier tonight when Cody Rhodes and Brock Lesnar kept having violent encounters. Still no update on Cody, according to Corey Graves. Adam Pearce is on the phone, saying that Rhodes won’t cooperate with anyone so he doesn’t know what he should do. Pearce gets some sort of advice, which he says okay to.

Dominik Mysterio vs. Apollo Crews is next!

Trish Stratus

But did the table survive the contract signing?

Becky Lynch grabs the microphone and tells Stratus to get her a** to the ring to take care of business. Lynch signs the contract and puts her feet up on the table.

Stratus comes down to the ring walking with some of her signature sass. Trish is amused Becky signed it right away like she’s eager, but she teases her for not coming back sooner. Stratus tells the crowd that this is her first contract signing, so she’s going to savor every moment. Stratus explains that the only reason Becky has had so many title matches and big moments was because of her.

Trish emphasizes that she is number one and will always be number one. She says she made her way to the top of WWE and it didn’t take a broken face to get there. (Damn!) Stratus asks what will happen when she beats Lynch. Then she’ll be “it.” Stratus tells her that she’s got Becky all figured out, and Lynch is actually her own worst enemy. Trish tells Graves that it’s ironic because it’s her first contract signing and Lynch’s last contract signing. She signs it!

Lynch grabs the microphone and stares at Stratus, looking amused. She asks her if Trish is scared. Lynch says she’s not going to hurt her tonight, but it’s bigger than that because Trish is “scared” that she’s being forgotten. Lynch says she’s better than Trish thinks she is, and the people aren’t remembering her for as good as she once was.

Trish wants her flowers? Lynch says, “Thank you, Trish. Thank you for being everything I hope I never become.” She thinks Trish is trashy and talks down to her, saying she can say whatever she wants but she can still punch her in the face. Even with all of the badness in her head, Lynch has had a career that Trish “can only dream of.” Lynch says if she thinks barking like a dog is embarrassing, she looks forward to Night of Champions where she embarrasses her. Becky tells her, “Welcome to the big time, b***. Woof woof.” Trish knocks the table over in fury! NOOO! The table! The segment ends with Trish walking away.

Becky Lynch

It's time for a contract signing

We return to Raw with a hype video for Riddle. He says it’s his time now, and if they doubt him, it’s a mistake they can’t afford to make. Here comes Becky Lynch!

Trish Stratus

Trish Stratus has a special request for Adam Pearce

Backstage, a referee tells Adam Pearce that Rhodes is very angry and very much in pain, but he won’t listen to anyone.

Trish Stratus appears, telling Adam Pearce that she thinks there should be a no-touch policy during her contract signing with Becky Lynch for their Night of Champions match. Pearce says there’s a lot going on and he doesn’t think that’s necessary tonight.

Raquel Gonzalez

Raquel Rodriguez isn't letting the loss of her titles keep her down

We see a replay from the Women’s Tag Team title match when Liv Mogan got injured. Next week, the four-way Women’s Tag Match will take place to determine who the new Tag Champs will be. Coming up next, Raquel Rodriguez battles Sonya Deville.

Deville comes down with Chelsea Green in tow. The bell rings and Green tosses her sunglasses in the ring to give Deville a cheap advantage. Deville uses a running knee for an early two. Forearm in the corner and a jumping knee off the second rope for yet another two from Deville. Sonya with shot after shot at Raquel’s abdomen. Sonya uses more forearms to the face, but Raquel shoves her off and uses a big boot/senton combo.

Easy enough — Tejana Bomb from Raquel gives her the quick win. Green runs in immediately! Green and Deville team up to attack Raquel when, suddenly, Shotzi runs in! It looks like Shotzi is going to be her new tag team partner! They team up for an explosive suicide dive through the second rope as Raquel held it open.

FInn Balor

Judgment Day uses the numbers advantage

Balor is in control of Shinsuke with a headlock, but Nakamura tries to fight back unsuccessfully. Shinsuke comes back with an attack on the leg, followed by a sliding German suplex. Nakamura goes out and challenges Priest, who misses a shot on him. Shinsuke goes back inside the ring and continues on, including using a front-facing suplex and several knees to Finn’s head.

Balor elbows Shinsuke and uses a victory roll for another two count. Suddenly, Balor with the sling blade! He attempts the shotgun dropkick in the corner but Nakamura reverses with a jumping kick to the face. Shinsuke attempts the Kinshasa, but it turns into a double stomp on the mat from Finn. Balor tries for the Coupe de Grace but Shinsuke ducks and uses a running knee on Balor’s head. Shinsuke climbs to his feet and prepares for a Kinshasa. Damian Priest saves Balor by pulling him out of the ring.

Shinsuke turns his attention to Priest with a jumping knee and a clothesline over the barricade. Balor uses this to his advantage by shotgun dropkicking him into the ring barricade. Balor with the Coupe de Grace and the win! Judgment Day wins it again!

Shinsuke Nakamura

Finn Balor vs. Shinsuke Nakamura

Indus Sher give a promo when we come back from the break. Jinder Mahal finishes by asking, “So what happens next?”

Shinsuke comes down to the ring first, followed by Finn Balor with Damian Priest by his side. The bell rings! Balor and Nakamura lock up, with Finn taking control initially with some headlock. Shinsuke with some reversals as he focuses on the arm of Balor. Balor starts focusing on the arm with an armbar, but Shinsuke uses some flashy reversals to take control and get a headlock takeover.

Balor slams his calf in the face of Shinsuke and backs him into the corner. Nakamura runs back into Finn with a knee to the abdomen. He shoves his foot in the throat of Balor, following it up with an enziguri. Shinsuke sets Balor up and uses a running knee to the gut in the corner turnbuckles. He keeps going with a dropkick on the ring apron. Somehow, Finn rallies and attacks Shinsuke on the ropes. As he nearly gets a 5 count, the ref backs Finn up, allowing Damien to take a cheap shot and rip Shinsuke’s legs out from under him.

Chad Gable

The Viking Raiders vs. Alpha Academy

We see a replay of what happened upon returning to Raw. It’s still unclear if this means Rhodes can compete Saturday at Night of Champions. Chad Gable is making his way down to the ring next with Otis and Maxxine Dupri! They are facing The Viking Raiders tonight!

Gable and Erik start things out. Gable rolls through and bridges out of a wrist lock. He hits a wild combo on Erik to drop him, but Erik’s power keeps him up. Gable throws Erik forward with a head scissors and an arm drag. Erik nails Gable with a hard forearm before tagging in Ivar. The Viking Raiders team up to just club away at Gable. Erik tags back in and The Raiders us a splash/clothesline combo for a two count. Ivar is back in now, hitting a shoulder to the abdomen for another two count.

He puts Gable in a cobra-clutch type hold. Gable finally escapes and chops away at both of The Viking Raiders. He finally manages to make it to Otis who takes out everyone with splashes, a spinning back elbow, and a body slam to Ivar. Otis hits a splash on Erik in the corner and uses the catepillar to the delight of the crowd! Otis misses a splash in the corner but Gable is able to tag himself in. Erik tags in, too, but he is able to reverse into an O’Conner Roll with a bridge for the 3-count! Gable wins it for Alpha Academy!

Backstage, Adam Pearce is running into the locker room of Cody Rhodes, but he is yelled at and kicked out by Rhodes. Cody is infuriated and seems to not want any medical help! Up next is Finn Balor vs. Shinsuke Nakamura!

Brock Lesnar

Brock Lesnar finishes the job with Cody Rhodes

We Mustafa Ali backstage where he’s interviewed about his Intercontinental Title match against Gunther at Night of Champions. Ali says he can’t do this right now. He wants to be all positive, but he needs to be serious right now. Ali has failed so many times, but this time, he needs to finally succeed. Brock Lesnar interrupts him suddenly. He walks past and the camera follows as Brock tells Ali, “Get a life, kid!”

Lesnar comes down to the ring in a cowboy hat that’s got a feather in it. Interesting choice! 😂 Lesnar mocks Cody Rhodes by saying, “So, Hershey, what do you want to talk about?” They boo him. Lesnar tells the crowd that Cody won’t be out here tonight, and furthermore, Cody will not be able to fight him at Night of Champions. Brock tells them not to worry because he will issue an open challenge to let anyone in the back fight him at Night of Champions.

He says that all they have to do is step up to him right now. Cody Rhodes comes out in a sling as Brock laughs! Rhodes walks all the way down to the ring and rips the sling off of his arm. Rhodes and Brock collide, but Lesnar puts Cody in the Kimura lock and yells, “Fight me!” The American Nightmare writhes in pain on the mat before Brock starts stomping on his arm.

Brock loses his hat on the way out of the ring (I guess the ropes didn’t like it either). Adam Pearce runs to the ring and calls for the medical staff to rush over immediately. We go to the break with Rhodes struggling on the mat.

Zoey Stark

Candice LeRae vs. Zoey Stark

We come back and see a promo to hype up Zoey Stark before her entrance. They seem to be really invested in getting Stark over!  The bell rings with Stark immediately attacking LeRae with shoulder tackles, a hip attack, and a kick in the corner. Stark just tosses LeRaw with a t-bone suplex. She then mounts LeRae with several punches. Stark with a seated headlock, when suddenly, Nikki Cross runs down to the ring.

She encourages Candice, who hits a chinbreaker and a dropkick to stagger Stark. Candice with a unique senton splash off the back of Stark, followed by a dropkick off of the ring apron. LeRae springboards off of the ropes with a splash and tosses Stark back inside the ring. Cross is so excited for Candice that she distracts LeRae long enough that Zoey shoves them both into the ring steps. Zoey with the Z360 for an easy win. Stark wins!

FInn Balor

Finn Balor is ready to tear apart Shinsuke Nakamura

We see the moment from Raw Talk last week when Shinsuke Nakamura had a run-in with Finn Balor and Damien Priest. At the time, Balor said they would deal with Nakamura next week, and he’ll get the chance tonight when they wrestle.

Balor is backstage getting ready for his match. He tells Byron Saxton that he should congratulate them on their victory over the Tag Team Champions last week. Then, he gives an explanation as to why Shinsuke deserves a beatdown tonight. He’s been extremely disrespectful, according to Balor. When he’s done with Shinsuke, Balor says he will only leave bones for Priest to pick.

Candice LeRae is coming down to the ring next!

Seth Rollins

Seth Rollins interview Pt. 2

Coming back, we see the next installment in the Seth Rollins interview. Rollins says that now is the perfect time for a World Heavyweight Champion. His thoughts on Roman Reigns — Seth takes a moment. He says he loves Roman Reigns, but he doesn’t like Reigns. He will always have love for Roman. When everyone made enemies with them, Roman was there. But the person and the Champion he has become is something he doesn’t like.

His ego is too big. And the worst thing is that he’s the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion because he’s taking the opportunities away from everyone else. That’s why Seth wants to be the man on top. Rollins sees that this title could be the catalyst for change, and he is going to be around and wants the challenge. Someone has to carry the torch when Rollins and Reigns are gone and that’s what he wants to see.

Regarding AJ Styles: He knows that Styles could argue he is the once-in-a-generation-talent. Rollins and Styles battled each other back in NWA in 2006. Styles called him the future of the business at the time and he was obviously right. Rollins says he’s at the top of his game right now and he feels invincible. The final part of the Seth Rollins interview will take place later tonight.

Dominik Mysterio

Dominik Mysterio with Mami crosses paths with Apollo Crews

Reed celebrates in the ring while Ricochet looks disappointed on the outside. Apollo Crews is backstage for an interview, and he says that he hopes Cody Rhodes is doing okay. Crews is interrupted by Judgment Day’s Dominik Mysterio and Rhea Ripley. Dom says this is Rhea’s interview time and then asks who Apollo Crews is. Crews tells him he’s everything he wishes he was.

Rhea grabs the mic anyway, and tells Natalya that she’s going to make an example out of her at Night of Champions. She wants to end her career. Apollo interrupts, which Judgment Day doesn’t like. Rhea tells Apollo that Dominik will show him that he runs Monday Night Raw, so the match is made! Dom vs. Apollo later tonight.

Seth Rollins interview concludes after the break!

Bronson Reed

Bronson Reed ends up crushing Ricochet

We come back from the commercial with Reed hitting a delayed vertical suplex on Ricochet, but no! Ricochet knees him in the head and escapes. Reed stays in control with a Samoan drop and a close two count. Ricochet starts coming back, getting Reed down and hitting two superkicks and a shooting star press for a one count. Ricochet with a springboard moonsaults and more kicks to Reed.

Bronson just clubs the leg of Ricochet out of the way and then clotheslines him back to the outside. He tries to hit a running shoulder tackle once more but is hit with a kick to the face in mid-air, instead. Ricochet with a kick on the apron, but he’s shaken off the top rope. Reed takes control yet again, finishing Ricochet with the Tsunami splash. Reed wins!!

Ricochet

Ricochet vs. Bronson Reed

We come back from the break and see a replay of Cody Rhodes being attacked backstage by Brock Lesnar. Byron Saxton is backstage and asks Adam Pearce if Rhodes will be able to even compete at Night of Champions this Saturday because he’s rumored to have a broken arm. Pearce says he does not have further information right now.

Bronson Reed comes down to the ring next before the bell sounds! Ricochet evades Reed with quickness and hits some kicks. Reed shoves him off but misses a splash in the corner. Ricochet hits a dropkick on Ricochet’s knee, followed by another. Reed finally catches him, but Ricochet leaps up with an enziguri! It’s been all Ricochet so far! Suddenly, Reed with a huge splash, elbow drop, and steam roller senton to squish Ricochet. He slides to the outside where Reed catches him and delivers a leaping shoulder tackle off of the apron.

Sami Zayn

Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens get their "mystery partner"

Zayn and Owens walk down to the ring to a nice pop from the crowd. We then see a replay from SmackDown when The Usos attacked KO/Sami despite Roman not wanting it to occur. Heyman leaves the ring while Owens and Zayn grab the microphones. Zayn asks where Paul went. He says that they might have a score to settle, but they’re feeling pretty good right now because of their big title match this Saturday.

Zayn sees this as a very personal match, but he has nothing else to say now because he’s said it right to Roman’s face. Kevin speaks up, recalling when Roman dedicated their future win at NoC to The Wild Samoans. Owen wants to dedicate the same match to another tag team: The Usos. Interesting choice! Zayn says there is still business to take care of tonight because they will battle Imperium. Gunther walks out with Ludwig Kaiser and Giovanni Vinci. Imperium surrounds the ring and acts like they’re fixing to attack when suddenly, Matt Riddle runs down and evens the odds. Imperium retreats to the back.

Will Riddle be the mystery partner?! It appears so! Imperium suddenly sprints back into the ring but Owens, Zayn, and Riddle take care of them and send each man out of the ring. Riddle, Owens, and Zayn battle Imperium later on tonight, according to Corey Graves on commentary. We see a rundown of the card for Raw tonight, followed by the entrance of Ricochet.

Paul Heyman

Paul Heyman hypes up Night of Champions

Paul Heyman appears in the middle of the ring with a mic and tells the audience that he had nothing to do with Lesnar attacking Rhodes. But Heyman says it is just a taste of what Rhodes is going to taste when he gets to Night of Champions on Saturday. He recalls his visit to Raw last week, and since it went so well, he’s back for round two. There will be three main events at Night of Champions, including Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa challenging for the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Titles against Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn.

Heyman says The Usos are expected to be at home, watching from the TV. When all is said and done, Heyman expects Solo and Roman to claim even more Championship gold. Paul welcomes the crowd to Raw, but right after, Owens make his way out to the stage. Sami Zayn is coming out now!

Raw

Let's get this party started!

WWE Raw starts right now!!! We see as Cody Rhodes arrived to the arena in an all-black suit, but suddenly, Brock Lesnar shoves him into a catering table. He throws Rhodes all over the backstage area with ease, including into a pile of used kegs. Rhodes is slammed into the parking garage door before Lesnar picks up and empty keg and smashes it into Cody’s previously injured arm/shoulder. Oh my God! What a start!

Kurt Angle

Kurt Angle heaps praise on John Cena for being ready for WWE

Back in the Ruthless Aggression era of WWE, John Cena made his television debut by accepting an open challenge from WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle. Cena had a promising showing that night, but it wasn’t until months later, when he debuted the “Dr. of Thuganomics” character, that he really shined as a character.

In a new interview, his opponent in that first match, Angle, opened up about why he could tell John would thrive in the company. Angle points to Cena’s focus on merchandising, which put him over the top.

“Yeah, he was ready. You know, he was ready when he started. He was a little green. You know, he had to have a few touch ups. But other than that, I mean, the kid was prepared. He was prepared before he even got here. I mean, the stuff that he was able to do in the company, especially with merchandising, he came in fully prepared man, and he acted and really played it out like a main eventer, he really did.”

WWE

Sound-Off: What WWE memorabilia would you want if you could have anything?

It’s time for the daily sound-off question; this time, the WWE on A&E Twitter page posed a question inspired by the acclaimed “Hidden Treasures” television show:

If you could add ONE dream piece of memorabilia to your WWE collection, what would it be?

You can see some of the responses the WWE Universe gave below:

AJ Styles

AJ Styles blames Roman Reigns for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship feeling secondary

AJ Styles has done it all in the world of pro wrestling, and this Saturday, he’ll have the opportunity to add another World Title to his list of accolades when he battles Seth Rollins to determine who will hold the rechristened World Heavyweight Championship. But in a new interview, Styles explained why it’s hard to view the belt as a top prize in the company with the way Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns is presented.

“Is it a secondary? Well if the Raw championship is held by Roman, the SmackDown championship is held by Roman, then how can you argue that it’s not? We had to make a new championship because Roman holds them all.

“What happens if he decides to wrestle for the World Heavyweight championship? It is what it is and we got what we got. If we make the best of it, and if and when Roman does challenge [for it], we beat the brakes off of him, whomever it might be, then we’ll see what title’s secondary.”

Good evening!

Hey there, folks! We’re back for another edition of WWE Raw, and the go-home edition of Raw on the road to Night of Champions looks like it’s going to be a big one. Trish Stratus and Becky Lynch will come face-to-face once more to sign the contract for their match at Night of Champions. We will also see Imperium’s Gunther, Ludwig Kaiser, & Giovanni Vinci battle WWE Undisputed Tag Team Champions Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn with a mystery partner. If the rumors from earlier today are true, it’s a strong possibility that Drew McIntyre may make his return to WWE to reignite his feud with Imperium.

In the news, there’s been a lot of focus on Mercedes Mone’s unexpected injury during the main event NJPW Resurgence. Mone is suffering from a broken ankle, which occurred during a mishap against Willow Nightingale to crown the first-ever NJPW Strong Women’s Champion. It’s being reported that Mone was originally supposed to win the match and emerge the champion, but an audible was called due to the injury that pushed for Nightingale to go over.
