Gable Steveson who was recently seen at NXT TakeOver: Stand And Deliver has shared a photo of himself and WWE advocate extraordinaire Paul Heyman.
Steveson is the reigning NCAA Division I Heavyweight Wrestling Champion, competing for the University of Minnesota. Heyman’s client, former WWE and UFC Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar won that championship, representing the same University in the year Steveson was born.
Gable Steveson has the chance to follow in fellow ‘Paul Heyman Guy’ Kurt Angle’s footsteps at the delayed Tokyo Olympic Games. Steveson qualified for the Games after winning the US Olympic Team Trials in early April 2021. Steveson is set to represent Team USA in freestyle wrestling at the 125kg weight division. Team USA has won gold in that weight class at the last two Olympic Games.
Recently on an episode of The Kurt Angle Show, the Olympic gold medallist discussed Steveson:
“I think he’s gonna be a big star. Look at his look. If he adapts to pro-wrestling and picks it up like Brock Lesnar, he’s gonna be exactly like Brock Lesnar. So, I think he needs to take the chance. Whether he goes to MMA or WWE, one or the other but he’s gotta do one of them. I think that he is a future star regardless of what he does. He’s got a great look to him, a great athlete.”
Taking to social media, Steveson shared the photo of him and Heyman, simply referring to the former ECW boss as “My guy!”

Triple H also recently gave an update on the relationship between Steveson and WWE:
“The Gable came here tonight and enjoyed the show as a guest, had his dad with him. You know just won the NCAA Championships and the National Championships and just, you know, obviously qualified for the Olympics, and that is a big task at hand. So, you know, huge fan of what we do. We’ve been talking for a long time and we want to come out here, you know, reached out, want to come out, see TakeOver, see WrestleMania and we’ll see where it goes.”
Paul Heyman will be in the ‘Tribal Chief’ Roman Reigns’ corner for his WWE Universal Championship match on Night 2 of WrestleMania. Reigns defends his championship against Daniel Bryan and Royal Rumble winner Edge.
