A former WWE Superstar appears to be done with the company once again, appearing for AEW just one day after working on Friday Night SmackDown.
Ariya Daivari was a mainstay of 205 Live during his run with WWE. During his five years with the company, he feuded with the likes of Oney Lorcan and Tony Nese but failed to ever capture the WWE/NXT Cruiserweight Championship.
On June 25th, 2021, Daivari was released from his WWE deal as well. Ariya Daivari competed in an AEW ring in November 2021 when he took on Dante Martin on an episode of Rampage.
Back in April, it was reported that Daivari, along with Curtis Axel, was making a return to WWE as part of tryouts for a producer role in the company.
Now, in a surprising twist, Ariya Daivari has worked at an AEW Dark taping on the 11th of June, just one day after he produced a match on SmackDown, according to Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp. Daivari also appeared on-screen on SmackDown, attempting to break up the brawl that ensued after the match between Drew McIntyre and Sheamus.

Ariya Daivari’s return to AEW saw him wrestle someone making their debut for the company, former IMPACT Wrestling star Caleb Konley. Former IMPACT star Jake Something and former NXT North American Champion Leon Ruff were also part of the tapings with matches airing as part of Dark and Elevation on YouTube in the coming weeks.
