WWE President Nick Khan has shared how quickly plans materialised for Las Vegas to be the host city for WrestleMania 41.
On April 19th and 20th, the biggest event on the pro wrestling calendar will once again return to Sin City. Unlike previous Manias that have been announced over a year in advance, the host city for the 2025 event was announced shortly after Backlash on May 4th 2024.
Following the announcement, follow-up reports indicated that Vegas was never intended to be the original host city and talks progressed very quickly. During a fireside chat at Preview Las Vegas, Khan recalled how talks progressed over Super Bowl weekend:
“We were here for the Super Bowl—all of us. Anyone who was in Las Vegas at that time saw how big it was and how big it felt. I called and I said, ‘You know, that was big, and we all thought it would be big, but I think it exceeded our high expectations.”
“I realized we weren’t yet locked in for WrestleMania 2025. ‘What do you guys think about doing it in Vegas?’ [They] said, ‘Give us a day, and we’ll get back to you.’ Probably two hours later, they called back and said they had spoken with Steve Hill, who wanted to meet. ‘Can you bring the team to town so we can all get in a room together?’”
Continuing, Khan also added that both sides clearly wanted a Vegas Mania to happen and was complimentary of the process:
“There’s no bureaucracy with the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority that we’ve experienced. It was clear they wanted this. They primarily put the deal together quickly, and boom—here we are. It’s been a great experience. We always say the result matters. But the process matters just as much, and this process has been A+—thanks to you,”
WWE WrestleMania 42 Location Revealed?
With the location of WrestleMania 42 yet to be confirmed, WWE fans are eagerly awaiting an official announcement as to where The Show of Shows will emanate from in 2026. While nothing has been made official regarding WrestleMania 42, a new favourite has recently emerged for the host city.
