WWE President Nick Khan Gives Thoughts On “The Other Promotion” & Makes Bold Prediction

Nick Khan speaking at the CAA World Congress of Sports

WWE President Nick Khan has commented on AEW and the wrestlers that are currently signed to the company.

Established in 2019, All Elite Wrestling was marketed as the alternative to WWE. With considerable star power, major financial backing from the Khan family and a national TV deal on the Turner Network, the company was also a viable second option for wrestlers to work, marking the first time this was a possibility since WCW in 2001.

Over the past 5 years, many wrestlers have left WWE for AEW and vice versa due to releases or not looking to renew contracts with their respective promotions. In recent months, stars including Ricky Saints, Penta and Rey Fenix have all made the jump to the rival promotion with reports indicating that Rusev [Miro] and Aleister Black [Malakai Black] are also set to make their return.

Speaking on The Bill Simmons podcast, Khan stated that while “the other wrestling promotional company” has a lot of talented wrestlers, he believes that more will make the jump when it is time to negotiate contracts:

“In terms of the other wrestling promotional company, they have a lot of talented wrestlers and we’re happy about that. When, contractually, they are available to talk to and have conversations with, assume a number of them will come over. Nothing but respect to the father who finances it and owns the Jaguars and all those other things.”

The individual referenced is Shad Khan, who is the father of AEW President Tony Khan.
