At Survivor Series WarGames Sami Zayn was finally and unanimously accepted into The Bloodline. After proving his loyalty to the group, Zayn was embraced after their victory by both Roman Reigns and Jey Uso.
While Reigns had already seemingly taken Zayn in, Jey had been a long-time thorn in the side of the star, being consistently suspicious of his motives for wanting to join the faction. However, at Survivor Series Zayn played a starring role in helping The Bloodline to victory, coming to the aid of Reigns as he was about to be pinned. The former Intercontinental Champion then attacked Kevin Owens, despite his one-time friend pleading with him. After felling Owens, Zayn handed him to Jey Uso to score the pin.
What Does The Future Hold For Roman Reigns And Sami Zayn?
In recent weeks fans have got behind Zayn almost unanimously, meaning he has worked himself into contention for a huge match with the Tribal Chief. A new report from WrestlingNewsCo, has claimed that such a match was in mind for the Royal Rumble, although it’s now slated for Elimination Chamber. The event is set to take place in Zayn’s hometown of Montreal, Canada.
Instead of Zayn, Reigns will now take on Kevin Owens in San Antonio. The report adds that there are no plans for Reigns to lose the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship before WrestleMania 39. It has long been rumoured that Roman Reigns will be facing Dwayne Johnson at the spectacular. Away from the main event, current plans will see Zayn team with Owens to take on The Usos.
“We heard discussions about Sami Zayn facing Roman Reigns in a singles match at the Rumble but we’re told that the Zayn vs. Reigns match is not going to happen until the February Elimination Chamber pay-per-view happening in his hometown of Montreal.”
Roman Reigns has held the Universal Championship for well over 800 days, while he added the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 38. Sami Zayn is yet to taste World Championship gold in WWE.
