WWE might not just be done with AEW yet.
This year, WWE planned and collided several of their NXT PLE shows with critical All Elite Wrestling shows. While the All Elite Wrestling PPVs performed better and received better ratings than the NXT shows, the Stamford-based promotion might just have another trick up its sleeve.
A recent report from Post Wrestling noted that multiple of their sources were of the knowledge that WWE has scheduled a yet-to-be announced PLE on Saturday, September 20, in Indianapolis, Indiana. The date coincides with AEW’s All Out show in Scotiabank Arena in Toronto. It will also mark the first time a WWE main-roster PLE will clash with an AEW PPV. All Out is scheduled to begin its PPV at 8 pm ET.
Later, Andrew Baydala noted that Bad Blood might take place on September 20th in Indianapolis, and could be the unannounced PLE.
Last year, Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes headlined the 2024 Bad Blood show against Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu, which also featured The Rock’s return.
While not confirmed yet, the promotion can confirm the PLE as early as tonight’s Raw and could feature a match between John Cena and Brock Lesnar.
WWE Hall Of Famer Wants To Renew AEW Contract
“I think my contract is up in August,” he said. “I’m not planning on going anywhere. I like my part-time schedule. It lets me keep my batteries charged. I like working for Tony Khan because he’s always been fair and civil to me — and that I appreciate.”
“I have a good relationship with those guys in that respect, but I love where I am because nobody has ever taken care of me as good as Tony Khan is and has. So that’s why I’m so content about being there. I want to stay there in AEW and I want to work more. I want to be able to contribute more, so that’s my goal is to stay healthy and contribute more to the company that pays me. And if that’s wrong, then shame on my a**.”
