A report has emerged, stating that WWE officials aren’t fans of this year’s SummerSlam card – despite putting it together themselves.
WWE’s premium live event schedule will continue on 30 July when they present SummerSlam. As it stands, eight matches are currently scheduled for the event, headlined by Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar’s latest clash over the former’s Undisputed WWE Universal Championship.
Despite the card being just days away, WWE officials reportedly aren’t keen on the match list. Those officials are, of course, the same officials who approved all of the matches.
WrestleVotes have revealed from a source that WWE officials “really don’t” like how the card currently looks:
“In the most WWE of ways, I had a source tell me this morning ‘they really don’t like the SummerSlam card’
‘They’ being the people who put it together. Um, what?!”

Reigns vs. Lesnar was the first match confirmed for this year’s SummerSlam when ‘The Beast Incarnate’ returned to WWE programming on 17 June. A Last Man Standing stipulation was applied in what will mark the seventh singles outing between the pair.
Three matches were announced for the card coming out of last night’s Monday Night Raw, with Bianca Belair announced to defend the Raw Women’s Championship in a WrestleMania 38 rematch vs. Becky Lynch. Additionally, Seth ‘Freakin’ Rollins will collide with Riddle, while Logan Paul will make his singles debut vs. The Miz.
Additional matches have been confirmed in previous weeks. Most notable is another clash between The Street Profits and The Usos over the latter’s Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championships, with Jeff Jarrett set to don the stripes as the guest referee.
