WWE RAW this week saw the return of Bill Goldberg to set up his match with Gunther, who regained the World Heavyweight Championship on the previous edition of the red brand. Officials have just squashed growing speculation with a big announcement involving the Hall of Famer.
Goldberg vs. Gunther was previously confirmed for the 40th Saturday Night’s Main Event. The NBC television special has been announced for July 12 to be held at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, which will also host the Evolution II PLE the following night, on Sunday, July 13. Meanwhile, NXT’s The Great American Bash VI will take place before SNME XL at the nearby Center Stage Theater.
WWE announced ticketing details for its Atlanta Weekend Takeover today, but that was not the biggest news disclosed. Regarding individual event tickets for SNME XL and Evolution II, pre-sale access will begin Monday, June 23 at 10 am ET, while the general on-sale begins Wednesday, June 25 at 10 am ET.
WWE Confirms Goldberg’s Retirement
The WWE Universe was left with growing rumors and speculation about Bill Goldberg’s future following Monday’s face-off with Gunther. It was confirmed after RAW that the World Heavyweight Championship will be on the line that night, and in today’s press release, it was confirmed that it will be Goldberg’s final match. The press release stated as follows:
WWE, part of TKO Group Holdings, today announced that individual event tickets for Saturday Night’s Main Event on Saturday, July 12 – headlined by Goldberg’s final match versus WWE World Heavyweight champion GUNTHER – and Evolution on Sunday, July 13, in Atlanta will go on sale starting Wednesday, June 25 at 10am ET/7am PT via Ticketmaster.com.”

Ticketmaster still has two-day combo tickets for SNME and Evolution available, as well as individual tickets for The Bash. WWE’s exclusive hospitality partner, OnLocation, is also selling Priority Passes for SNME and Evolution.
