John Cena is all set to be a part of an upcoming match at Saturday Night’s Main Event.
On 10th May 2025, during the Backlash PLE, John Cena successfully defeated Randy Orton following an interference from R-Truth. Successfully defending his 17th World title, Cena later appeared at the Backlash post-show Press Conference, where he dropped Truth with an Attitude Adjustment onto a table.
Earlier today, during the 16th May episode of SmackDown, Truth appeared in a backstage interview segment with Wade Barrett, where he refused to believe that his “childhood hero” John Cena had turned heel. Initially refusing to fight him, R-Truth later agreed to do so if it meant ‘beating him back to his senses’.
The former 24/7 Champion revealed that he had spoken to Nick Aldis and confirmed the match for Saturday Night’s Main Event. Next week, on 24th May 2025, John Cena will now face R-Truth in a non-title match on the Saturday Night’s Main Event show.
Recently, a WWE veteran turned critical of the Orton-Cena Backlash finish.
Dominik Mysterio Humbled By John Cena’s Recent Comments
Earlier this year, during his appearance on The Pat McAfee Show, John Cena heaped praises on Dominik Mysterio. Following this, Dominik Mysterio shared his thoughts on the compliments during his recent interview on The Wrestling Classic on Casual Conversations.
“That was super dope of him to do that. John doesn’t have to do any of that stuff. He’s John Cena. He’s the biggest movie star in the world, along with the biggest wrestler currently in the world. For him to say those things about me, it’s really cool to see. Especially because I started with him when the pandemic ended and we had the live crowd back. He was the guy that was there for me with the tag matches and giving me advice. We were both babyfaces at that time. I was tagging with Cena and Rey Mysterio against Roman [Reigns] and The Usos [Jimmy Uso & Jey Uso].
I had Cena, Roman, the Usos in my ear this whole time. The fact that Cena was able to see me from that beginning to a year or two later when he came back, I was a bad guy then and I got to wrestle him in a dark match. He’s seen me through this whole process and what I’ve gone through. For him to say those words about me is really special. I’ve known that dude since I was a kid. I love the Dr. of Thuganomics. I played his album when I was in school or before I jumped in the shower. I was a Cena mark. It’s really cool to hear from a guy like that.”
