WWE are set to go head-to-head with AEW All Out on September 4th with NXT Worlds Collide.
The weekend of September 3rd and 4th is shaping up to be one of the biggest in recent memory. While the recent Starrcast and SummerSlam weekend saw the wrestling world take over Nashville, the upcoming series of shows, could be even bigger.
On September 3rd, WWE’s main roster head to the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales for Clash At The Castle. The first stadium show to be held in the United Kingdom in three decades.
Meanwhile, AEW are set to host their annual All Out special the following night in Chicago on September 4th. Incredibly, another show with huge ramifications has also been added into the mix.
Speaking to Alistair McGeorge of the Metro, Shawn Michaels revealed that a huge NXT show featuring stars from NXT UK and NXT 2.0 titled NXT Worlds Collide will also be held on September 4th. The build-up for the event was set into motion on the most recent episode of NXT 2.0 where a number of UK based talents appeared on the show.
The special event will also be the swansong for the NXT UK brand which will be replaced by NXT Europe in 2023.
“It’s sort of a pseudo-final event for NXT UK at Worlds Collide,’ he explained, while noting he’s optimistic for the future. ‘I’m just excited that we’re growing it. A lot of things we have talked about in the past, now they’re finally happening and this talent’s gonna have the opportunity to enjoy the fruits of all their hard work.”
The announcement comes after weeks of speculation about the future of NXT’s UK brand, which has helped launch the WWE careers of the likes of Rhea Ripley, Gunther and Doudrop.
It should also be noted that NXT Words Collide will take place before All Out.
