WWE talent cuts are on the way.

Even before WWE’s merger was completed on September 12th there were rumours that the company would be trimming its talent roster as soon as the deal was done. While there was no word on exactly how the cost-cutting would play out, Nick Khan confirmed that management would be “aggressive” in a bid to save at least $50 million.

With the deal now done, and TKO Group Holdings up and running, it seems that WWE talents are right to fear for their futures.

According to a report from Nick Hausman, “major cuts” are expected across the main roster and NXT. This comes after a memo revealed that WWE employees have been told cuts will begin on September 15th.

WWE “Workforce Reductions” To Begin On September 15th

An internal memo sent by Nick Khan has revealed that WWE will be making cuts to its staff on September 15th. In the message, Khan told employees to work from home and those impacted will be contacted by Human Resources.

Hi All,

As part of WWE’s transition into the newly formed TKO Group Holdings, we are evaluating our existing operations and systems to identify potential synergies across the business. This effort includes workforce reductions, which will take place tomorrow.

Those whose roles have been impacted will be notified by our Human Resources Team, who will share the details of their severance package. We are asking that everyone work remotely, Friday September 15th, so we can insure all conversations are handled privately and respectfully. We’ll send out a company-wide email once all of tomorrow’s conversations have happened.

Our company is home to the most talented, creative, and hard-working employees in the world. WWE is a special place, which makes moments like this difficult. Just know that we have nothing but gratitude and admiration for everyone we have had the privilege to work alongside.

Thank you for all your contributions and dedication.

Nick Khan

It’s unclear when the cuts to the talent roster will take place, although it’s been suggested it won’t be on September 15th.
