One WWE NXT star is expected to have a “big future” in the company.
Back in 2020, Dwayne Johnson’s daughter Simone became the first fourth generation star to sign with the sports entertainment giant. In May of 2022, she announced that she would be going by the name Ava Raine going forward, and that has since been shortened to Ava.
After being part of the Joe Gacy-led faction The Schism, Ava was revealed as the new NXT General Manager in January of 2024 and has been serving in the role ever since.
On January 7th, The Rock made his debut in NXT and shared a backstage segment with his daughter. Ahead appearing live in front of the audience, Rock interrupted a meeting backstage between former NXT Champion Ethan Page and the NXT General Manager. The Rock reminded Page that although he is The Final Boss, Ava is The Final Boss of NXT. Rock stated that Page needed to respect Ava and hoped to see him on the main roster one day.
Ava Will Be More Heavily Linked With The Rock In WWE NXT
A new report from WrestleVotes Radio on Sportskeeda’s Backstage Pass indicates that big things are in store for the NXT GM as she’s set to be more prominently featured on TV and linked to her legendary father.
“Creative has begun putting plans in motion for NXT General Manager and, of course, real life daughter of the Rock, Ava, to be featured more prominently on TV, as well as have merchandise and character ties to her father, alluding to his final boss persona. We are told plans could include her playing off the final boss character on TV as a way to raise her importance. Ava, from all accounts as well-liked and could have a big future with the company.”
