William Regal Announces NXT TakeOver Stand and Deliver, Raquel Gonzalez and Dakota Kai Crowned Inaugural NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions.

  • Regal makes his two landscape shifting announcements, first a Two Night TakeOver Special on April 7th and April 8th.
  • The Show will be called NXT TakeOver: Stand & Deliver.
  • The second announcement is the new, NXT Women’s Tag Team Championships.
  • Raquel Gonzalez and Dakota Kai are crowned the inaugural NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions.
  • Dakota and Raquel state that they have run through the entire division to get here, a statement that Ember Moon and Shotzi Blackheart take issue with.
  • The Dusty Cup runners upstate that if they are the new champions…then they need new challengers, William Regal makes the match official and it’s happening…tonight.

Io Shirai defeats Toni Storm to retain the WWE NXT Women’s Championship via Submission [Crossface]

  • Shirai makes her way to the ring whilst the entire women’s division is still at ringside forming a guard of honour, however, Storm make her way to the ring after the ad-break during which point the roster had left.
  • New ring gear debuted by the former NXT UK Women’s Champion, black-and-white striped tights with patchwork.
  • The Genius of the Sky is grounded effectively by Toni Storm who utilises the ring apron, announce table and steel steps to wear down Shirai.
  • Shirai hits a huge Springboard Dropkick to momentarily regain control however a big Superplex from Storm resets the matches battle for control.
  • Storm shows her knowledge of Shirai countering the Crab Counter from Shirai with a big Elbow Drop.
  • Io hits Storm with a big Back Body Drop onto the apron before hitting the Over the Moonsault on Storm on the outside.
  • Fantastic near-fall as Storm connects with the Storm Zero after avoiding the Over the Moonsault.
  • Storm misses a Diving Headbutt allowing Shirai to hook in a Crossface forcing Storm to tap.

Pete Dunne [w/ Lorcan & Burch] defeats Jake Atlas via submission [Arm Bar]

  • Pre-match LA Knight is interviewed backstage, he justifies his actions last week before Bronson Reed attacks him setting up a match for next week.
  • Atlas gets initial control from the Collar-and-Elbow lock up however Dunne is quickly able to regain wrist control and work Atlas down to the apron.
  • ‘The Prime Athlete’ Jake Atlas attempts to handspring into a ‘Rana onto the former NXT UK Champion, however, Dunne can counter the offence with a simple-yet-effective kick to the face.
  • Dunne catches Atlas in a Triangle Choke following a Moonsault attempt however Atlas Cartwheels out of the hold.
  • Pete Dunne snaps the fingers of Atlas before falling backwards into the Arm Bar submission leaving Atlas no choice but to tap out.
  • ‘The Best Technical Wrestler in the Entire World’ dares someone to come out and dare try and prove him wrong.
  • Post-Match Imperium interview, Barthel invites Thatcher to join the faction and rejoin the special organisation he helped make [Ringkampf].

Ember Moon & Shotzi Blackheart defeat Dakota Kai & Raquel Gonzalez via pinfall [European Clutch] to capture the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championship

  • Pre-match promo from Leon Ruff, states that next week he will defeat Swerve once again.
  • The team of Shotzi and Ember debut a new tag team theme, featuring heavy rock music and a guitar solo.
  • Blackheart locks in a Texas Cloverleaf submission onto Kai early into the match however Kai eventually reaches the bottom rope to force the break.
  • Step-Up Enziguri from Blackheart allows Moon to finally get tagged in whilst the faces continue to isolate Kai from Gonzalez.
  • Ember holds open the middle rope for Blackheart as she hits a huge Tope onto Gonzalez on the outside who takes a heavy whack off the announce table.
  • Gonzalez finally gets involved in the match hitting a huge Spin Out Spinebuster onto Ember before sending Blackheart out of the ring allowing Kai and Gonzalez to work over Moon.
  • The two-on-one beat down is short-lived as Blackheart makes the hot tag clearinghouse and laying Kai out with a huge knee strike.
  • The face duo hit an assisted Wheelbarrow Suplex onto Kai however as Moon attempts to hit the Eclipse onto Gonzalez she counters using sheer power to avoid the offence.
  • Blackheart hits Kai with a European Clutch Roll-up, successfully pinning Kai and capturing the tag team titles for herself and Ember Moon.

Result: Shotzi Blackheart and Ember Moon capture the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championships via Pinfall


Xia Li defeats Kayden Carter via DQ [Crutch Shot]

  • Carter connects with a fast-paced Dropkick however Li can quickly regain control using a series of fast-paced strikes.
  • A Short Scissor Kick from Carter gives her an early pinfall attempt however Li kicks out at one.
  • Catanzaro comes down to ringside on crutches however Li is not distracted, aiming to destroy the leg to Carter like she did Catanzaro however the former American Ninja Warrior lays out Li with a crutch causing a DQ loss for her own tag partner.
  • Boa forces the crutches from the hand of Catanzaro however Carter appears from behind to lay break a crutch over the back of the giant.

Result: Xia Li defeats Kayden Carter via DQ


Jordan Devlin appears via video message, set to challenge Escobar on next weeks WWE NXT to crown the one-true Cruiserweight Champion.

  • States that his travel ban exception got lifted today and he can’t let the biggest NXT TakeOver in history not have the true Cruiserweight Champion
  • Continues stating that next week on WWE NXT, he and Escobar will face off to see who truly is the NXT Cruiserweight Champion.

Legado del Fantasma defeat Grizzled Young Veterans via pinfall [Roll-up]

  • GYV has the upper hand over LDF until MSK appear dressed in the Breezango Astronaught outfit.
  • MSK’s Distraction allows Wilde to get the roll-up victory for LDG.
  • Wesley Blake crushes Gibson’s hand against the Steel Steps with his Helmet.
  • Breezango then appears behind LDF and beat them down with a Falcon Arrow.
  • MSK and Breezango dance in the centre of the ring to celebrate.

Result: Legado Del Fantasma defeat Grizzled Young Veterans.


Io Shirai Challenges Raquel Gonzalez to a NXT Women’s Championship Match

  • As Gonzalez and Kai are interviewed by McKenzie, angry at Regal for the short notice title match Shirai appears.
  • She stares down Gonzalez before simply stating “I want you next”.
  • Gonzalez is quick to respond “be careful what you wish for”

Finn Balor defeats Adam Cole in the Main Event to retain the NXT Championship via pinfall

  • Cole is wearing the same gear he wore when he captured the NXT Championship to begin his historic title reign.
  • Balor and Cole pivot control of the match with Balor ultimately coming out on top early in the match until Cole is able to utilise a referee distraction to take Balor down via Pump Kick.
  • Adam Cole attempts to take out Balor the same way he did O’Reilly weeks ago with a Brainbuster onto the Steel Steps.
  • Balor counters the Panama Sunrise into a picture perfect Slingblade however a misplaced Coup de Grace attempt allows Cole to connect with a big Superkick.
  • Targetting the injured jaw of Balor, Cole locks in a Crossface rolling away from the ropes and Balor attempts the top break.
  • Cole connects with the last shot and gets a very very nearfall however Balor eventually kicks out.
  • Balor kicks out of the Panama Sunrise to send Cole over the top rope and buy himself sometime to recover.
  • As Cole rests on the barricade O’Reilly appears from the darkness providing a distraction for Balor to hit a Suicide Dive onto Cole before following up with the 1916 onto the outside,
  • Coupe de Grave provides Balor the win retaining the NXT Championship.
  • Post-match O’Reilly brutalises Cole around the outside, wiping out NXT officals in the process.
  • As Balor recovers in the ring, he is joined by the man who was never beaten for the NXT Championship, the Disciple of Death Karrion Kross.

Result: Finn Balor retains the WWE NXT Championship.
