Back in March of 2015, WWE NXT held its first live event outside of Florida when it traveled to Columbus, OH as part of the Arnold Classic weekend. Later that year, the brand held its first show in front of an arena crowd when it held NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn inside the Barclays Center as part of the 2015 SummerSlam weekend.
As NXT TakeOver events grew in popularity, it became common practice to hold the shows in the same arenas as major WWE premium live events, but when the COVID-19 pandemic hit, the brand stopped traveling. With the advent of NXT 2.0 in September of 2021, the show shifted its focus back to being a developmental brand within WWE, and while Raw and SmackDown have resumed touring the world, WWE NXT premium live events have continued to be broadcast from the WWE Performance Center in Florida with the exception of WrestleMania weekend and a few tapings in the UK.
WWE NXT’s First Premium Live Event Back On The Road Will Take Place In Charlotte, NC
However, at long last, it looks like WWE NXT is going to be returning to the road for its premium live event shows. According to a new report from WrestleVotes, the brand will be holding a show called Vengeance Day in Charlotte, NC on February 4th. A follow up tweet revealed that tickets for the event will go on sale December 16th.
“Hearing some great news out of the PC this afternoon, source states NXT is returning to the road for their future Premium Live Events. Starting with “Vengeance Day” on February 4th from Charlotte, NC.”

Meanwhile, the WWE NXT brand is currently gearing up for its NXT Deadline premium live event on December 10th. Once again taking place at the WWE Performance Center, the show will feature the debut of the Iron Survivor Challenge, a match concept first explained by Shawn Michaels on the November 15th episode of WWE NXT. The new gimmick match type seems to have taken inspiration from a number of other classic match types, such as WWE‘s Ironman match and TNA’s King Of The Mountain match.
