WWE NXT Match Stopped Due To Injury, Updates Provided

A match that took place on the March 4th episode of WWE NXT ended sooner than expected after one of the competitors was not cleared to compete.

Following a disagreement that took place earlier in the day regarding the prestige of the TNA Knockouts Championship, a match was booked between Cora Jade and Jordynne Grace. During the contest, Jade was driven into the corner and was seen saying something to the referee, resulting in Grace backing away. The official then threw up the X signal to indicate that there was an issue and a member of the medical team checked on the former NXT Women’s Tag Team Champion.

With the match halted, it is then determined that Jade was not able to continue and Grace was declared the winner via referee stoppage.

It should also be noted that for international viewers who watch the show on Netflix, the incident involving Jade being driven into the corner is not shown. Instead, the feed briefly buffers and jumps to Jade being checked on by the medical team.

WWE NXT Star Cora Jade Provides Update Following Match Stoppage

With the NXT star previously suffering a knee injury, there were concerns that this had happened once again in the match with Grace. Taking to social media after the match to provide an update, Jade stated it was not her knees but that she “got rocked”:

Got rocked for a sec but my knees are all good (decentđź’€) Thanks for the concern

A follow-up report from Fightful Select also added that their sources told them that Jade had suffered a head injury.

Jade is next scheduled to be in action at TNA Sacrifice on March 14th, where she will challenge TNA Knockouts Champion Masha Slamovich for the title. Slamovich was seen in attendance at NXT.

In a new interview, one member of the NXT roster stated that they were originally offered a WWE main roster spot.

Everyone at Inside The Ropes would like to wish Cora Jade a full and speedy recovery.
