WWE NXT Debut On CW Network Draws Big Numbers

Shawn Michaels was impressed with star at WWE event

The viewership numbers for WWE NXT’s CW Network debut are out.

On 1st October 2024, fans were treated with a power-packed card, several big appearances, and NXT’s debut on the CW network. Soon after the inaugural show on the network, Wrestlenomics shared the viewership and numbers details.

The 10/01 episode drew 895,000 viewers, a significant 44% increase from the 620,000 viewers from the September 24 episode on the USA network. It also posted a 0.26 rating in the 18 to 49 demographic, which also witnessed an increase from the 0.19 demo rating last week.

NXT’s Senior Vice President of Talent Development Creative, Shawn Michaels recently glorified the achievement and complimented the brand’s good start on X (Twitter). He stated:

895,000 viewers tuned in to the NXT debut on The CW – our best numbers in a year. Great start. See you next week live from St. Louis!”

Interestingly, the numbers are strikingly higher than last year’s viewership on the USA network. It has the highest viewership since Oct. 10, 2023, and the highest P18-49 demo since Oct 10, 2023.

Cody Rhodes Has Hyped Up WWE RAW’s Netflix Move

In January 2025, the Stamford-based promotion is set to make its big jump on Netflix. Concluding their long partnership with the USA network, RAW will make a move to the streaming giant Netflix. A few months before the jump, Cody Rhodes hyped up the impending move in an interview with Pat McAfee.

I think the locker room is through the roof morale-wise in terms of going to Netflix. We all have it. We all watch Netflix and love it. But the idea of the streaming era, truthfully WWE in the past was actually always a little bit ahead of the curve in terms of banking content. First it was 24/7 On Demand, then it was the Network, now it’s Peacock. But Netflix is going to be huge for us. When I say expanding and I see where it’s going I think certain individuals in the locker room, some of the champions, some of the top guys and girls in the locker room know this as well.

Speaking in a new interview, Shawn Michaels believes an NXT star is main roster ready.
