WWE has announced a huge match for their NXT TakeOver 31 go-home episode that will see two champions take on their challengers in a Mixed-Tag Team Match.
NXT North American Champion Damian Priest and NXT Women’s Champion Io Shirai will battle their challengers Johnny Gargano and Candice LeRae tomorrow night. The winner will take their momentum into the thirty first NXT TakeOver on Sunday night on the WWE Network.
Once the bout was announed, Damian Priest – who this week told of how his father defeated Chuck Norris – took to Twitter to express his delight in the battle to come.

Johnny Gargano, who will challenge Damian Priest for the NXT North American Championship on October 4th, was denied a second reign at NXT TakeOver 30 by the champion who knocked ‘Johnny Wrestling’ from the top of the ladder with the gold in his hands.
Gargano’s first NXT North American Championship reign lasted just under one month at the beginning of 2019.
Candice LeRae will challenge NXT Women’s Champion Io Shirai after winning a No.1 Contender’s Battle Royal on the September 23rd edition of NXT. This will be LeRae’s first NXT Women’s Championship Match on NXT television.
Also on this week’s edition of NXT, The Undisputed Era will battle Danny Burch and Oney Lorcan for the right to face Breezango for the NXT Tag Team Championships despite Bobby Fish being out of action with a knee injury.
Shotzi Blackheart will battle Dakota Kai after their coming together in the No.1 Contenders Battle Royal last week.
Shawn Michaels will also host a face-off between NXT Champion Finn Balor and his No.1 Contender, Undisputed Era member Kyle O’Reilly before their main event clash on Sunday.
Inside the Ropes will have all the results from the go-home episode of NXT this week as well as results and all the news from NXT TakeOver 31.
