WWE have announced that November will be a month-long celebration of the “Trail blazing, eyebrow raising, People’s Champ, The Rock!”
To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the WWE debut of The Rock, the company have announced that November will be dedicated to The Great One.
Writing on Instagram WWE wrote “Get ready to salute @therock all month long in honor of the 25-year anniversary of his #WWE debut. #Rock25″
The celebration will see a new ‘Best of The Rock’ series showing on Peacock and the WWE Network
The Rock made his WWE debut on November 17th 1996 at Survivor Series at Madison Square Garden. The WWE’s first-ever third generation Superstar appeared under the name Rocky Maivia emerging as the sole survivor for his team.
The 2021 Survivor Series marks the 25th anniversary of that famous debut, leading to speculation that The Rock would be appearing at the event. However, it was later reported by Andrew Zarian of the Mat Men Podcast, that won’t be the case, as The Great One will be in Australia while the show is taking place.
It had also previously been suggested that the former World Champion could be heading for a showdown with Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 38 in Dallas. Despite the rumour and innuendo, it now appears that the blockbuster encounter is also off the table.
