Nash Carter’s firing from WWE has reportedly not gone down well backstage in the company and it’s said many knew about the situation long before he was released.
Nash Carter and long-time tag team partner Wes Lee – collectively known as MSK – recently competed at NXT Stand & Deliver where they faced Fabian Aichner & Marcel Barthel and The Creed Brothers in a Triple Threat Match for the NXT Tag Team Championship. Ultimately it was MSK who emerged from the match as NXT Tag Team Champions for the second time in their WWE career.
The win however was overshadowed by serious allegations by Nash Carter’s wife and pro-wrestler Kimber Lee who took to social media to share disturbing accusations against Carter.
Across a number of now-deleted posts, Kimber Lee wrote that she had been going through hell since October. She later explained that the abuse led to her almost taking her own life. The IMPACT Wrestling star said that she had hidden Carter’s abuse in “hopes of keeping a career.”
Kimber Lee followed up by sharing images of herself that she alleges were taken after Carter had “split [her] lip open.” Lee also shared a disturbing image which apparently shows Nash Carter giving a Nazi salute.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful was the first to break the news that Nash Carter had subsequently been released by WWE.
Dave Meltzer speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio has now noted that Carter’s release has not gone down well backstage in WWE and he says WWE knew about the situation – although it is not clear if he means the Nazi photo or the abuse allegations – before Carter was fired:
“In NXT, from what I have heard, the decision to fire him was not well-taken. Because I think people liked him and everything like that. The (Hitler) photo was when he was 19 years old, and it was the photo that got him sacked from the company.”
“I know that WWE was aware of the whole thing before it ever went public. I had heard right before Stand & Deliver some stuff was coming out, and I know people there who said WWE was aware long before this.”
As a result of his firing, MSK relinquished the NXT Tag Team Championship and new champions will be crowned on the 12 of April edition of NXT 2.0.
