WWE Manager-Star Duo Could Reunite In AEW After 2019

WWE Manager-Star Duo Could Reunite In AEW After 2019 Split

A manager-star duo who were popular in WWE could be seeing a reunion in AEW, after having split in 2019.

While it is always disheartening to see a team split up, especially when they were building momentum, there is always hope of them reuniting in another promotion.

One such faction is the Hurt Syndicate, which recently reunited in AEW, and if Bobby Lashley is to be believed, there could be a chance of him reuniting with his old manager, Lio Rush.

Bobby Lashley Says He And Lio Rush Will “Definitely Cross Paths” In AEW

Rush, who had made a name in WWE NXT, was called up to be the mouthpiece and manager for Bobby Lashley. The duo achieved mild success and eventually split up in 2019.

However, it seems that there is a chance of them reuniting again as they are both on the AEW roster now. Speaking to WFAA Texas, The All Mighty was asked about his former WWE manager. Lashley praised Rush, saying that he was capable of a lot more and needed a platform to do so. He was also surprised at the fact that they hadn’t yet crossed paths in the Jacksonville-based promotion yet.

However, he was optimistic that the two would work together down the road. Lashley said:

I love Lio, say it all the time, I love Lio. I think Leo has some tremendous amount of talent across the board. He’s always, always doing something. If he had, he just needs a platform to be able to do it. Am I gonna do something with Lio? I don’t know, I really don’t know. I’m sure down the road, if I spend some time with AEW, we are definitely gonna cross paths. I mean, he has a tag team. He has a tag team partner, so I’m surprised that we have not crossed paths in that capacity, but I think we’re definitely gonna do something while I’m here in AEW for sure.”

While Lio Rush joining either the Hurt Syndicate or reuniting with Lashley would be awesome, he will have to wait. Lashley’s former stablemate, Cedric Alexander, has also stated that he would love to reunite with his former faction in the future.

Lashley and Shelton Benjamin are set to defend their AEW World Tag Team Championship against JetSpeed and The Patriarchy at All In Texas on July 12.
