WWE Making Plans To Leave ThunderDome [Exclusive]

WWE ThunderDome

Amidst speculation of a move away from the Amway Center, Inside The Ropes can exclusively reveal details of WWE’s potential plans to leave the ThunderDome.

With their contract with the venue set to expire next month, WWE talents have been told tentative plans are in place to travel again.

A source close to one talent told ITR that WWE may be moving from the ThunderDome soon. Talents have also been told they should not plan any immediate travel of their own accord. Superstars have also been told, if they want time off from WWE, they should ask three weeks ahead of time.

Meanwhile, another source working within WWE confirmed that information. They also added that, while preparation for a move from the Amway is happening right now, no firm decisions have been made as of yet regarding potential future locations.

WWE’s initial deal with the Amway Center, which saw the company work with the Famous Group to create the ThunderDome, has almost completed its duration. The contract is set to conclude on October 31st.

It’s worth noting that said contract could still be extended, and that any notice of intention to move could leverage re-negotiations with the Amway Center – who are said to have pocketed $450,000 for WWE’s residency thus far. Those figures came from Spectrum News 13‘s Jeff Allen, via his colleague Jon Alba.

It was also recently reported by WrestleVotes how WWE had assembled a small team to look into the feasibility of running outdoor shows upon expiry of their contract with the Amway Center.
