According to Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE are attempting to sign Riddle to a new contract.
As reported in the latest edition of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Riddle is out of contract in August and will be available to negotiate with any promotion he sees fit.
However, Meltzer notes that the former NXT Tag Team Champion has as good as agreed to pen a new three year deal to see him stay with WWE until 2023 which will earn him a whopping guaranteed $400,000 per year, plus an extra $50,000 for every Saudi Arabia event he agrees to perform on.
Last week, Inside the Ropes reported that WWE Chairman Vince McMahon is a fan of the talent and his work even though he doesn’t see the star as a main event level talent. It was said that McMahon doesn’t understand the character but believes Riddle is worth ample television time.
Vince’s stance on Riddle could and is most likely to change, however, once fans return to arenas and the reaction is overwhelmingly positive to the marvel.
Currently on WWE television, Riddle is involved in a mini-feud with The Hurt Business alongside new ally Jeff Hardy. Should the stable win the WWE Raw Tag Team Championships at TLC on December 20, then the team Riddle has christened The Hardy Bros will be first in line for a crack at the doubles gold.
