Former WWE Champion Drew McIntyre has declared Lionel Messi ‘the GOAT’ following Argentina’s 2022 World Cup win over France.
WWE Star Drew McIntyre Degrees Lionel Messi is the GOAT following 2022 World Cup Win.
Former WWE Champion Drew McIntyre would take to social media following the conclusion of the 2022 World Cup to state that Lionel Messi was the greatest of all-time, a title that has long been debated between the Argentinian and international rival Cristiano Ronaldo over the past two-decades.
“Can it be denied anymore? The greatest to ever play the game. Congrats to Messi and Argentina!”
McIntyre would also dub the match ‘the greatest World Cup final of all-time’ before hilariously commenting on the matches ‘false finishes’ as France equalised for a second time thanks to a Kylian Mbappe penalty in the dying minutes of the match.
McIntyre was not alone in his assessment of Lionel Messi with former United States Champion MVP also declaring Messi the GOAT after Argentina’s emotional victory.
Wrestlers from across the globe took to Twitter to comment on the 2022 World Cup final with NJPW United States Champion Will Ospreay declaring the 3-3 tie between France and Argentina ‘the best match’ he has ever seen.
Baron Corbin would take things a step further declaring Messi ‘the GOAT of ALL Goats’ via social media.
Lionel Messi would give Argentina the lead on two occasions, however a record matching hattrick from 23-year-old sensation Kylian Mbappe would force the match through extra time and penalties before a heroic performance from former Arsenal backup keeper Emi Martinez would award Argentina the victory and their third World Cup trophy.
Drew McIntyre will be hoping this is not the only title celebration he gets in the coming year as both he and Rangers FC look to regain their championships from Roman Reigns and Celtic FC respectively – although with Celtic nine points clear at Christmas the former may be more likely.
The Scottish Warrior will be hoping for a repeat of the 2020 WWE Royal Rumble where he was able to outlast 29 other competitors to book his ticket to the main event of WrestleMania where he would go on to defeat Brock Lesnar for the WWE Championship.
