WWE LFG winner makes a big impact on his debut by taking out a well-known champion.
On the 20th May episode of NXT, the brand offered a segment featuring Myles Borne and NXT Champion Oba Femi ahead of their clash at Battleground.
The in-ring angle had the two stars exchanging barbs at each other, and just as Myles Borne exited the ring, Oba was ambushed by WWE Legends & Future Greats Season 1 winner Jasper Troy, who attacked and took out the reigning champion.
The sneak attack followed up on a previous segment in the show where Troy and fellow WWE LFG winner Tyra Mae Steele were informed by NXT General Manager Ava that they would be making their in-ring debut in a few weeks.
Troy, who was guided by Booker T, ended the segment by declaring that he would be making a statement that very night.
Jasper backed this up by taking out the Ruler of NXT, which ensured that he capitalized on the momentum he had gained after his LFG triumph and established himself as a serious threat in NXT.
WWE LFG Figurehead Had Warned Oba Femi
Fans will recall that WWE legend and WWE LFG Mentor The Undertaker had an interaction with Femi a few weeks ago. While the Deadman praised the champ for his performance and dominance, he also issued an ominous warning that members of his WWE LFG team, which included Jasper Troy, were gunning for his spot.
With his upcoming debut slated soon, it’s evident that WWE sees great potential in Troy, who has shown that he has the ability and talent to compete at a high level. It’ll be really interesting to see how this angle unfolds over the coming weeks.
