A new report has indicated that WWE has made multiple layoffs at the vice president level as their marketing department gets a major reshuffle.
It has been a summer of major changes at the top of WWE as the company undergoes the biggest shift in its management in 40 years. Vince McMahon was forced to retire amid allegations of sexual misconduct and hush money payments with Stephanie McMahon replacing her father as WWE Chairwoman.
Triple H has taken over the wrestling side of operations, being named Chief Content Officer which puts him firmly in charge of the creative direction of the company.
Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics reported on social media that several big changes have now taken place in the company’s marketing department with multiple staff at the vice president level said to have been let go:
“I’m told there were layoffs today to WWE’s marketing department. Multiple people at the VP level were let go. Possibly a part of a restructuring to that department. EVP Catherine Newman was hired this summer as the new head of marketing.”

WWE announced that Catherine Newman has been appointed to the company as the new EVP and Head of Marketing back in June 2022. It was noted at the time that Newman was brought in as a replacement for Stephanie McMahon who had previously taken leave from the company before returning as her father’s replacement.
Newman joined WWE from Manchester United where she acted as the club’s Chief Marketing Officer. Prior to that Catherine Newman spent almost five years working for Rupert Murdoch’s News UK.
